you think your contacting your insurer after a shunt thanks google
so my wife had a shunt someone went into the back of her and dashcam proves that she was not at fault so no worries there
but in her haste to get things sorted and get home she called a no win no fee company instead of her insurer and started that process unaware she had called the wrong company ( google admiral and see how it looks )
does anyone know if there is any way out of this without covering the costs already laid out by the company like recovery and hire car

try it on a mobile0

Regardless of how she contacted the wrong company, she has and she needs to take steps to limit the damage. Contact that company immediately and tell them you want them to play no further part in the matter. Then contact your insurers (which you must do anyway) and tell them what has happened - including how the wrong company was contacted.0

On Chrome on a mobile I get results which are very clear to me.
First entry is clearly marked as an Ad and has the url www.accident-helpline.uk whilst not mentioning Admiral anywhere on the site it goes too and clearly just a generic paid for ad.
The Admiral website is clearly the second link on the results, complete with their logo.
As to the question, who has the agent claimed from, directly from the 3rd parties insurer meaning yours is not in the loop?
I assume that your car was damaged and has been recovered and you have been given a hire car rather than a courtesy car from the repairing garage?
Has the 3rd party insurer accepted liability or are they contesting?
Is there something that is driving your wish to get out of the process you are in, such as you are now not likely to win and therefore could have costs they will look to recover?

she was on a main road, alone , in pain , in shock and she clicked the number above admiral and ran it honest mistake but seems like she is locked in without massive costs having to be paid to the no win no fee company0 -
It naturally depends on whos paying Google for SEM at the time but you will often find accident management companies advertising using the sorts of search terms the OP did and whilst some allege that they go further and truly try to pass themselves off as the insurer I suspect more often its a case of not correcting the caller that they are an accident management company rather than the insurer's claim department.emmajones1976 said:Well I just googled Admiral and the first hit is for....Admiral. Whilst I wouldnt recommend going down the accident management company route having already started down that path is there a reason you want to change? Whilst they are bottom feeders and drive up insurance costs etc the reality is that for every one horror story you hear there are 99 people who have a reasonable experience... the rate of horror stories from insurer handled claims are not THAT different probably.iansalter said:does anyone know if there is any way out of this without covering the costs already laid out by the company like recovery and hire car0 -
I had a shunt a few years ago now, and my insurer at the time (Kwik Fit) advised me to contact a recommended AMC - can't remember their name. Anyway, it worked out fine as it was a no fault claim, and I actually made a few quid out of getting my car written off. Do some digging on the company, and if it looks okay, stick with it. If not, go back to your insurers.0

I suppose it also depends what the person calling actually says. If it was "I've just had an accident what do I need to do now?" then they wouldn't be passing off as Admiral if they started processing the recovery. But if they asked "I need to speak to the Admiral Claims dept" then it would be a different matterSandtree said:

Exactly and whilst not wanting to call previous posters liars I am very conscious that not everyone is a good listener and people can be mistaken over what they thought they heard etc... I did a lot of call centre work through my university days and it was only in the 4th week ok working for the water authority that a customer pointed out that I had answered the phone as BT, which had been my previous job (listening into call recordings, Id done it on almost every call).jimjames said:

Certainly some have claimed the ad included the insurance companies name and that "they had said they were the Admiral claims department" but I suspect really the agent at the accident management company has been intentionally obtuse and have said that they are claims and they can help etc and blanked the aspect of it being the insurer so neither confirming nor denying.1
