Cancelling Sky mobile quick query

They should cancel it, but if it were me and the payment was due in a few days then I would cancel the DD my end.1

Hi, thanks, that's what I thought just wasn't sure as it didn't say anything on Sky about the DD0

It's best not to cancel the DD yourself, in case Sky try unsuccessfully to take a payment, damaging your credit history. There may still be a trailing amount that is owed on the mobile account, or in the unlikely event that a payment is taken in error it will be easier to rectify (there is the direct debit guarantee if necessary) than trying to repair your credit files.
Evolution, not revolution5 -
I've received two emails from Sky one confirming cancellation of mobile account (moved using PAC) and another confirming credit balance had been paid. I cancelled DD with bank as I figured I had successfully left Sky mobile. That was several days ago, now today I've received an email from billing dept saying they have been informed payment details have been cancelled and to set up a new DD or I'll be fined £5 for late payment and mobile account will be restricted. Does anyone know if this email is just triggered by the cancellation and can be ignored, I really don't want the nightmare of phoning Sky.0

As eDicky explained it was not a good idea to cancel the direct debit. There could well have been usage that hadn’t yet been billed and would have shown on the final bill. You paid off what was already showing but can’t pay for usage that hasn’t yet been billed.November2 said:I've received two emails from Sky one confirming cancellation of mobile account (moved using PAC) and another confirming credit balance had been paid.
