    I agree with the above posters and feel that advice from people who have been through a simlar situation is invaluable.

    If we are going to be pedantic - how much does a divorce cost?

    How much does professional and medical help cost when somene has had a breakdown or lost their job because of stress at home or with husband , children etc?

    The OP's comment is very similar to the complaints on the Pigsback thread complaining bitterly because some poor soul has made a duplicate post - or even "chatted!"

    Ultimately we are all the losers because of curmudgeonly attitudes, because people who are trying to be helpful will not bother to post.
    "This site is addictive!"

    When you first look on the site, you see the title of the board and automatically go to the family bit when it's a family thread you want to do. You will always get people asking for advice or just getting problems off their chest, i for one don't see anything wrong in it, if there were then the Mods would tell us.
  • Ah, so you're one of those people who watch a whole offending TV programme from beginning to end and then complain to Points of View :rotfl:.

    Skip by the posts that offend you.....and stop cluttering this site with useless threads ;)

    I think that the 'help me' posts are definitely money-saving;

    The support that arrives on these pages could save money in counselling fees, drugs, alcohol and other 'escape' routes.

    Oh my goodness. I think you are a grumpy old man. If you see a thread to with needing help or advice you don't have to to click on it! That's common sense. I don't see a point to your complaining other than if you ever need help or advice where do you turn to.

    I'm sure you can appreciate that some MSE's can speak freely on here and a lot of the time advice on this site it very helpful!

    You are not the PC Plum of moneysaving!!!!!!!!!

  • The board guides are volunteers and don't see every post. If there's something you find offensive here, by all means report it. If you really feel that the threads you don't consider to be money saving shouldn't be here then you could discuss it in the forum policy and rules discussion board.

    But keep in mind that some threads don't at first appear to be money saving but actually are - for example bed wetting questions. Help with that can save money because if you're washing bedding and pyjamas every day and sticking a child in the bath or shower every morning obviously help sorting it out will save you money. Relationship problems threads often lead to questions about maintainance or help with childcare costs etc.
    May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

  • I think this place has become more of a community these, and who wouldnt reach out to their community for help when they really need it? I think they amount of people helped by advice in this forum section is huge, and everyone shoudl be applauded for being such a great community!
  • I posted a thread a few months ago on the discussion forum, asking for advice about christmas, newly separated, after over 20 years. I was really struggling...(still am) & I know now that if I had posted here..the advice would have been much more appropriate for me. One poster there advised me to "put myself about a bit"..not really the compassionate advice I was after! Lets hope the OP doesn't find himself in need of unbiased help himself (would probably be embarrassed to after the replies to this).
