AVRO CREDIT REFUND

I left AVRO 10 days BEFORE the collapse with a balance of APPROX £250CR.
I went over to Scottish Power presuming my balance would be credited after the final reading.
AVRO then collapsed and the situation is ongoing.
I was originally told NOT to cancel any DD as refunds would be harder to process, so I left it "live".
Payments to AVRO continued to be taken on 11 of Oct/Nov and Dec for £126.21.
The total I am now waiting for is £603.99!
Along with this, my Scottish Power bill is now £183 a month.
Octopus Energy who took over are no use.
Not sure how long I'm supposed to wait or who to contact.

Those that left before they collapsed are at the back of the queue for refunds, some previous failures have taken over a year to settle, Octopus will eventually get round to you.I would contact your bank and get any payments post collapse refunded as they were an insolvent business and should not have collected the money.I have been the customer of several failed energy companies and have always cancelled the DD the day I was informed they had failed with no negative repercussions.0

I was in a similar position last autumn. Except I had already cancelled the DD by the time AVRO collapsed - and was jolly glad I did.
Whoever gave the advice not to cancel should be held accountable to those who followed it.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.0 -

I've just received an email from octopus saying my credit refund has been processed and will be in my account within the next 5 days.0

The first thing i did after getting out before they collapsed was cancel my d/debit. I did see posts about people leaving their d/d in place and did wonder why to be honest. Fair enough if you're been forced onto SoLR but i knew i was getting out and no way was i having money continuing going out to my old defunct provider/SoLR when it was only needing money to cover the transfer period. Plus the fact Sainsburys Energy take 2 payments fairly early as well on top of everything.
I always go with my own gut with these things and to be honest with you Energy companies are pretty close to bottom of the list where i'll take advice or instruction from.

As per the other main Octopus to Avro threadAlpha_5 said:I've just received an email from octopus saying my credit refund has been processed and will be in my account within the next 5 days.

I too received this email stating the same.

I was an Avro customer, transferred to Octopus, also in credit. Stayed with Octopus as it did seem the tariff I'd be moved on was on par with what other suppliers are offering. There are no good deals anymore. Even Martin Lewis agrees with that. My credit took time to be applied to my account, but it was. I'm very worried about what is going to happen in April, like everyone else, but not a lot anyone can do. Just got to deal with it and try and cut useage as much as you can. I'm actually looking at solar panels I can put in my garden right now (which is small, but again, what choice is there?), trying to reduce drafts in the house etc.0
