Or no food haha.Where you live is the barrier to the outside world and all its troubles.... Sitting around in layers is so far from a happy life. As always there are those whose circumstances mean it has to happen but to make your home life miserable to save a few a few quid is completely and utterly stupid . IMO of course.

But the man volunteering to be tested is only wearing shorts and a light top. What do they expect?
Perhaps I should volunteer to be tested wearing the same clothes as I wear to stay perfectly warm down to 2C.
I thought of you when reading that report earlier :)

The Inuit people are layered up and don't have heating apart from a lamp with a small flame burning a wick in seal oil

Yes. As a vegetarian I don't really need anything cooked. So most of what I eat is raw. Plus a few carbs. Tonight for example - cheese and tom sarnie. With a splash of mayo. Soup I can heat in the microwave for 2 mins if necessary.

However I DO like a hot meal so will occasionally mix up a big pan of veg stew with lots of seasoning for flavour.

A very cheap date, I suppose.

  • anyone know of a radiator that you can fill with hot water from the kettle? I guess the best alternative is a hot water bottle.

This is a bit alarming, effect on the body of cold temperatures. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-63602501

Fortunately the makers of oil filled radiators have done this for you already, they even swapped the water for oil so you can run it at a higher temperature without problems with steam if you want.

@Cyburn was being sarcastic I think.

Sitting around in layers is a serious way of saving money - i.e. opposite of sitting around in T-shirt and shorts!

Layers mean you do not have to put heating on (medical conditions and other circumstances I am not aware of apart).  Yes, would love heating on 24/7 but even in well insulated house of 4 beds and detached not sure I could afford that for no reason that it would be 'nice'.

    (no mould, no damp issues)
