    I have tried everything and have now given up. I now go and scoop the poos once a week and pour water after cleaning on the lawn.is so annoying I gave to watch where I walk in my own garden. The cat deterrents granules do work but can be costly.

    Mesh works OK for me where it matters. Where it doesn't, I just give in to the superior intelligence of cats. Millions of Egyptians can't be wrong.

    I put holly prunings on top of the mulch in my raised beds and any pots that need protecting from the 2 mass murderers.

    We may live to serve, but still have our standards.

    With difficulty.

    I remember a neighbour would dry citrus peel (mainly orange) and then whizz it up in a blender to powder. Now that really kept the cats away but, and it's a big BUT, it had to be replaced every few days.

    They love my wood chip in the back garden and the gravel in the front. Now I let things like Forget-me-nots cover everywhere because the cats don't like to challenge well established roots!
    Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

    Cats - how to deter them from my garden and veggie plot;

    I haven't really got any constructive solutions to offer on this problem but you may find the following hilariously funny;

    Mother-in-Laws!

    Yes, you read that right, mother-in-laws!

    This has been a long standing discussion in my house as I found out to my dismay that my lovely (that's open for debate :D) MIL uses a water pistol to deter her neighbours cats from entering her garden.

    Let's put it this way, she doesn't tolerate cats full stop. Thinks they're a nuisance.

    The disapproval on her face when she first discovered I am a huge cat lover and have 3 housecats of my own.

    I sometimes joke with my husband that if she comes round we will have to do a stop and search for that water pistol!!  :D

    Getting a cat (or cats) of your own usually works.  Our own fur lady is a house cat, so that theory doesn't work in our case - but we have bribed (Dreamies are highly recommended) next door's bruiser to adopt our garden as his territory, so he keeps the hoards away.

    Whilst on the subject of cats. Is that your little fur baby in your profile? she's very cute!

    Meet one of my little ones. She's the most looniest and comical cat we have had and I have had many cats over the years. Crazy cat lady is an underestimation! Her name is Luna. Or Loony Boogle! she's part Bengal.

    (Hope it's ok to upload a pic of her here!)

    I did have a cat which kept "visiting" my garden; I contemplated fitting a remote-controlled sprinkler system, but I just took to scaring it away whenever I saw it and it seemed to get the message after a while.
    Another one surprised me when I was in my garage and suddenly I heard scrambling sounds and a cat rushed out past me; it had been making a nest in some spare rolls of fibreglass insulation there, which can't have done it any good. I did cover up the gap in the door which it had been using to get in.

    No, that little cutie is just a pic of a silver tabby kitten that I 'borrowed' from google.  Our current puss is a British Short Hair, but a different colour (blue).

    Your lady is gorgeous!

    Since our eldest started doing her business in the garden I think we've stopped having other cats poo in there.
    Well our youngest decided to do a big poo and being young did it on the large stones and found she couldn't bury it.
    @perfectflowers57 if it wasn't that we had 4 cats I'd assume you were my wife posting as your MIL sounds not too different to my mum except her supersoaker was primarily for magpies.
    Is catnip / cat mint planted in another far away location an option to make other areas less appealing? It probably will bring more cats in your garden though.
    May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.
