eHarmony free trial - don't bother!

**PLEASE NOTE: During the free trial, you are NOT able to share contact details so what's the point?!
I recently tried the 7 day free trial promoted here on MSE. I wasn't impressed by the site or the people on it really and the subscription options are very long and expensive so I shan't be signing up. I don't quite understand why it's so expensive either, I can only assume that they're trying to promote an air of exclusivity which is kind of working as there aren't many people on there 🤣 Also please note, they have some kind of filter so I couldn't share my contact details to continue talking to anyone after my free trial ended which was pretty annoying. I'd give it a miss if I were you.

I realise MSE has to make a buck somehow, but a site called MoneySavingExpert promoting a paid-for dating site makes no sense.A free trial of throwing money into a drain where you're allowed to spend 7 days looking at the drain before throwing money in isn't "saving money".3

It's very misleading because the offer on MSE states that "The 'premium' features include unlimited messaging" which is blatantly not true!0

I was surprised that this site has is promoting a deal with eharmony as it has lately used unscrupulous tactics to scam people out of £65 cancellation fees. There was an article in the Guardian about it.3

Oh yeah I've just googled that! Seems like they're using all kinds of unscrupulous tactics.. I really don't see why they have to be so greedy 🤷🏻♂️1

If anyone is thinking of signing up, read the reviews on Trustpilot first. Nuff said.1

I signed up with eHarmony many moons ago, when I was still a teacher. Their amazing algorithm matched me with a chap who lived in School Lane, and another who was a school caretaker. The word 'school' was the only thing I had in common with either of them. I did meet Mr. M on a different dating site though!I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Competition Time, Site Feedback and Marriage, Relationships and Families boards. Unfortunately I think the Match group suite of apps have a monopoly on the dating market.
