Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, not such a cold start for the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was the LO roast beef, yorkshires, I added roast pots, veg and gravy - all eaten and enjoyed. Not sure what we're having tonight.
Work was ok yesterday, I'm working at the other office today just 8.30 to 12.30 - then I'm days' off until Monday - looking forward to that very much, although have a mahoosive "to do" list.
Keep safe and well x

Good Morning and thanks for starting us all off this morning nmlc, happy birthday to those who are celebrating and hugs to those who need one.
Oh those 'to-do' lists ! I too have those, they seem never ending don't they. Years ago I worked for a chap in London and he insisted that we all, before we went home at night, made a list of the things to start our day next morning. We then had to work through them before doing anything else first thingFor years afterwards I carried on doing this at home.
When I retired in 1995 I threw all my lists in the bin and then followed a period when I got ina dreadful muddle and forgot or lost important bits and piece of what I had to do.So back came my 'to-do' lists
Today I now have two lists the 'to-do' and the 'been -done' lists. I don't manae always to clear one on to the other but I am quite organised. I try to multi task if I can .if I have stuff to go upstairs I never go empty handed as what has to go up is left on the bottom stair for transport (I do have a stair lift ) I have so many different note books for various bits, usually lists of budgets and prices and I do keep a keen eye on the best price ,especially for food stuff. My fridge has a list on it to say whats in the freezer (slowly reducing at the moment as I am hoping to defrost it)
My food cupboards ,especially the tinned food stuff have lists on the inside of the doors to tell me whats availableand my basic food stuff cupboard that holds dried food stuff also has a list on it,Flour, pasta, rice lenilts etc so I know if I'm getting low on anything .The every Sunday morning I do my menu pland for the week, and prep the carrots and potatoes which go in water in my fridge.(change the water every two days .)
As I say I am pretty organised with lists all over the place .Today on my list at the moment is three seperate phone calls I have to make this morning ,pluss I am making some biscuits to give to my DGD at lunchtime. I also have tofold some ironed clothes to go upstairs when next I go(they are sitting on my stairlift)
So lists are useful, if a bit daunting when they start to get longer and longer
Well enough waffling i am in need of another coffee to kick start my day, its nice that its slowly getting lighter every day and spring will soon be here.
Have a good day chums and keep safe and well.Weather is quite mild here in Kent at the moment and at least its dry
Cheers chums

Thanks for the start nmlc, hope your work is better this morning. It's chilly and damp this morning with sleet forecast, hope it's wrong!
Yesterday was better, I didn't feel as tired but still didn't do anything when I got home apart from have a bath and catch up on the Pottery Throwdown. Another good nights sleep so am doddering along. One thing I have noticed is that some of my joints are achy, not sure if it's from the virus or from laying on the sofa for a week!
Called at DDs on my way home, she had bought 2 of their bargain fruit and veg boxes from Lidl and there were far too many apples and satsumas in for them so I took a bagful, that's me on a fruit diet today!
Hope you're beginning to feel better dp1.
Also hope your meeting went well yesterday Ruby.
Hugs to anyone in need.
Take care. XX15 -
Morning folks. It's been blustery again all night and the wind is still roaring away. Yesterday was such a bright and cold day very deceptive. I had to light the stove in the late morning so was cosy all day.My new TV has been installed so I enjoyed an early night in bed watching it. The old dodgy one is going to a chap who can use it for spares. The TV chap and I spent a few minutes chatting about the 'old days' of sets, small screens, valves and frequent breakdowns. Everyone rented their sets (Radio Rentals for us) and we had relay TV, an early version of cable. Now we have mini-cinema screens in bedrooms!Today I shall start to return things to the drawers, it shouldn't take too long as I dealt with sorting it all out at the weekend. Don't know why I had six bras. 😀 As for knickers....I won't have to buy anymore for many years. I must remember that drawers don't need to be filled up. 😂
The other day I bought some Cadbury's Mini Rolls ( to give the TV chap), my DM used to buy them when I was young. They used to be big fat things smothered in chocolate and wrapped in silver paper. Now they are miserable little things, thin chocolate and a plastic sack, more like Micro Rolls. Very disappointing. Another childhood memory shattered. 😀
Now I need to delete the slew of overnight texts, my overseas family have taken to sending their wordle grids to each other, and me. I don't do wordle, the other morning there were 45 texts! The upside to this nonsense is that I'm pleased that they all keep in touch.Hugs to our poorlies. I wish everyone a very happy Wednesday.16 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It looks a bit damp outside but does feel marginally milder so that's a Brucie Bonus.
Yesterday was a bit grim with rain on and off all day but thankfully the wind died down a bit. I had the usual good natter with DF over our coffees and lunch (and surprise surprise I ordered from the healthy option menu!!)
Off to The Company Shop in a bit with DD. I found out I could apply for membership myself rather than being DD's "guest" This because I am in receipt of an NHS pension. After eating from the freezers since Christmas there is at last a bit of wiggle room in them so I may as well take advantage of any bargains. With grocery prices on the rise I'd be daft not to stock up again!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.Glad you're starting to recover Camelot.Jackie, I love a list too. I've always got at least two on the go, they're lifesavers.Gers,I agree about biscuits, sweets and cakes reducing in size, a lot of them have done it, wagon wheels are tiny now.I hurt my wrist last night lifting something out of the freezer, sounds mad I know. I lifted and turned at the same time and I think that's what's done it. I can use it in a limited way, there must be a strain or something - I can grip, as long as I don't turn to the left. It's annoying, but hey ho, it's not my dominant hand. Not much going on today here.Thoughts to our poorly people, take care folks.16

Morning everyone and thanks for the thread nmlc
I too love a list Jackie, and the tip of writing a list before finishing work for the day has stuck with me since my teens. It clears your head and gives you a head start for the morning 😊
I am off work today as I’m attending a funeral. It’s a c.120 miles round trip and I’ll be going by myself. Think that’s that longest drive I’ve done in a while. If I’m not too shattered I’ll pop into Costco on the way home as it ‘over the water’ and I’m passing.
The Mongolian beef was lovely if a bit (lot) spicy. Even DH struggled a bit! There’s a portion left for his lunch today as DS2 did an extra shift after school so ate at work.
We have been watching The Responder – last episode to watch but think DH is out with his mates tonight so will have to wait until tomorrow. No spoilers please!
Have a good day everyone and hugs to all the poorlies/those with worries – dp1, NRA, poppy xx

Morning all
Dry and bright here and fairly mild off work today as I have my meeting just after 11 this morning, thank you for all the good wishes fingers crossed I pass panel and can then start to go live
House guest is doing really well, only a few accidents on the floor but she mainly goes outside, she goes in her bed at night in the utility room and we dont hear a peep all night, she really is a lovely pup and it will be hard to give her back !
Dinner tonight is pie and mash and veg, I am not always keen on pie but OH loves it, I will probably enjoy it while I am eating but I never fancy it before hand.
Its quite hard to keep things tidy with three dogs in the house but we are keeping on top of it, dw to empty this morning and a hoover and mop through.
Have good days all xxx15 -

Morning all. Community larder was worth going to. Lots of bread and a bit of this and that. Got some spinach and made spanakopita. I also used up the over a month out of date cream from Christmas [ tasted fine] in a coconut rice pudding [ followed a recipe this time, came out pretty darn good for a change, note to self, follow a recipe next time too] , and made some loaded potato skins while the oven was on. On the way back I stopped at the new-ish ethnic shop..How much fun going round looking at all the different stuff? Lots! And they have meat at the back, I might look for goat next time. Blood test this morning. Then, no idea. I make lists and then hardly ever remember I've made them. It's bin day today but I don't know if the recycling is going to be collected, they're short staffed again. The weathers not great either, cold and windy so I'll light a fire when I get back.Gers, my father used to work for one of those companies, but as it was American owned, we always had latest versions of things, he used to win nearly every month collector of the month. They had quite a few holidays out of them as well. And the first dishwasher he won lasted twenty years
camelot, hope you coninue to improve, don't push yourself too much eh? Scarlet, not the kind of thing you expect when you go to the freezer...commiserations...Look after yourslves folks and take care...
