If this isn't a lesson to other lurking newbies who spend 200 hours trying to assimilate info from here & elsewhere, read endless posts and still attempt to deal with the nonsense from the unspeakable chancers out there, without help - then I don't know what is.
And the timing of the new parking code stuff ...aah.. that's a double edged sword as it may be more interesting to the amazing souls on here who help idiots like me..

And breathe! We can help.
Everything has to be done in your son's name. You can do the donkey work but all documents are sent 'as him'; you can draft it but get him to OK it by signing and understanding his own defence.
He will need to understand it.
Why doesn't your son simply email the AOS, as a belt and braces approach? The Template Defence thread at the top of the forum tells him/you what a Defendant has to do and gives the CCBC email address. Most posters take just half an hour to adapt the Template Defence. It is that easy. A bit more reading is needed now though (in son's favour). This week the new statutory Code of Practice came out and happily for your son, it has a section on car park areas where different terms apply:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/private-parking-code-of-practice
Read the Code AND read the separate Explanatory document (effectively also an Impact Assessment) which expands on the rationale behind each section. You will get it. You can use it and should quote from it in the facts paragraphs you add.
Bargepole has also written a paragraph based on it, explaining that the added £60 'damages/debt recovery' is now banned by Government as there was no evidence of such fees being necessary or even incurred.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

@KeithP, regular contributor to the forum will give your son some key pointers and essential dates for starting the court process. But Keith needs three essential dates, if you could please confirm:
Date of Issue shown on the N1 court claim form:
Date the acknowledgment of service (AOS) was sent:
Date the AOS was received by the CCBC (check on your son's MCOL history on line):
Just a plea, please make any further input a little less wordy, we are dealing with dozens of cases every day and have to read so much - we know only too well the 'read endless posts and still attempt to deal with the nonsense from the unspeakable chancers out there' syndrome, we do it every single day, and some of us have been doing it for years. We all know what a migraine is! If posts are far too long and detailed we can miss vital information in the detail overload. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Coupon-madUmkomaas.
I do apologise for the War & Peace length post - I was tearing my hair out in despair, not only at the injustice but all the obstacles - and should have tried to sleep on it first.
Date of issue of N1SDT = 26 Jan 2022
Signed AoS sent by post = 8 Feb
Accepted by court today = 9 Feb

Thanks. I'm sure @KeithP will be along before too long. In the meantime please have a look at the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, second post, which takes you right through the court process, including the hearing stage if it gets that far.BelladonnaTook said:Coupon-madUmkomaas.

Signed AoS sent by post = 8 Feb

You can, however, act for him at court - more on that later in the processPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. You haven't said if you and your son have read this yet. This is all good news and you just need to read and learn from this community and it will all start to make sense:This week the new statutory Code of Practice came out and happily for your son, it has a section on car park areas where different terms apply:

Pleased we’re not all taking advice from you @fimacdoodle. Your entitled to your opinion and believe me, spending hours and hours making sure I’m writing the correct words that sound correct to the Court, awaiting responses from the brilliant regulars (professionals if you like) of this forum, I often thought ‘god I wish I had just give them them the money’ but NO, it’s the principle. It is worth the time. Yes, it is a chance that the court rule in your favour but surely the satisfaction when they (hopefully) do is worth it! Don’t put people off fighting these PCNs and Court Claims. There’s members that’s worked very hard to help stop these robbing gits!fimacdoodle said:Is it worth all the stress.
