I cancelled my Sky TV Subscription a while ago and Sky left the Dish on the side of our house but I had to send back the Sky Box. Since cancelling the Sky service I have been using my TV Aerial but the signal has become poor and the Aerial needs replacing. Is it possible to buy a box and use the Sky Dish rather than paying for a new aerial? I dont want to sign up to Sky again, just want to use the Sky Dish for TV Signal.

yes you need a freesat box - either with or without a hdd for recording. Have a rummage on Amazon.1

Since you had to send the box back, was it a Sky Q box? If so the LNB may be of the Wideband variety and not compatible with the HD Freesat boxes.1

Remember since you sent the box back you had Q. so only the current freesat boxes will work. (the "4K" ones).

I cant remember if it was a Sky Q Box. If I buy the 4K free sat box and I didnt have Sky Q Box, will it still work1

            Should do.0

The only boxes that remain the property of Sky and have to be returned are Sky Q boxes. Unless you have a hybrid LNB on your dish you'll need to change this in order to get Freesat.sarahj1990 said:I cant remember if it was a Sky Q Box. Thanks for the info. Any idea how much it costs to get the LNB changed.kobe84 said:

Much more if you do not. But why go for old tech that is not supported?Anything but the manhanttan one. The 4k Ones will just work. Prices may be better elsewhere.1 -

You're quite correct, the latest 4K freesat boxes will work with both Sky Q and older Sky+ dish set ups. The older Humax freesat boxes will only work with the standard narrowband LNBs.Carrot007 said:sarahj1990 said:

I ordered a Freesat box 2 weeks ago online from Argos and when I went to collect it I noticed the seal was broken on the box and when I opened the box it was clearly evident that it had been returned by another customer. This was the only one in the store so I asked for a refund. Will order one again in next few days from Currys.Carrot007 said:sarahj1990 said:
