If so, I think this is a type 249 battery which are around £80 delivered anyway. If you can get one fitted for around £100 then I'd just go for that and reflect the cost in the car's sale price. Have you tried your local Halfords, their own brand batteries are pretty good, or you could ring around some local motor factors. Either this or get a decent battery charger (I'd recommend a CTEK MX5.0) and put on a full recon charge.1 -
Found a battery and fitting at Kwik Fit for £78.75. Thought I’d go with that. About £50 cheaper than Halfords.1

Just get one of those battery pack jump starters and drive it up to Newcastle. I have one the size of a smart phone and it works great.0

I’ve already got one. Had hoped the battery would last out but it won’t start even with the battery pack attached. Breakdown people attached 2 and it still didn’t start.0

It may have more problems if the breakdown service couldn't get it started, was the engine turning over with the battery jump pack on it ?
