What temperature should I set the heating to when I'm away?

I was away for a week recently and used this as a bit of an experiment. I set daytime day 1 at 12, then day 2 at 13 etc. Overnight (frost free) stayed at 8. As I have Hive I can see when the boiler kicks in on a graph. Interestingly, all temperatures up to about 17 had minimal boiler call during the day, due to the fairly mild Jan weather and the house being reasonably well insulated, so I think you can probably select a reasonable temperature without it costing too much.0

Worth keeping the fabric of the building warm. Cold buildings and their contents can take a long time to warm up again.0

Tend to set our Tado to 15 degrees when away, so the cat doesn't freeze.0

12C+, some the above suggested temperatures come with a real risk of killing plants or stunting their growth. They will be OK, even the tropical varieties like pothos, monsteras, philodendrons if you keep the temp above 12C.0
