Can't get Neon Reef refund

Switched over to British Gas at start of December after being told Neon Reef had gone bust, still no sign of the hundred odd quid Neon Reef owe me for my account being in credit.

Raised this with British Gas about a fortnight ago and was told they are still waiting for the final bill from Neon Reef so that they can refund me my overpayments.  Now Neon Reef are emailing me saying that in a weeks time I no longer will be able to access my online account with them.

Any suggestions how to get my money back?

    You need to be patient. It takes months. The companies that went bust early September are only just sorting out final bills. You'll get it eventually.

    Download all bills from the website and take screen shots of everything.

    3-4 months is about average, although some have ended up waiting for over six. Just make sure that you've downloaded and saved all your bills and statements.

    BTW, I left NR in July and am still waiting for my £32 credit back

  • I was with neon reef,when bg took over. Go on your neon reef app or website,you will see your final bill off neon reef. I am getting a refund of £73. I just happened to check website,and the final bill had been there a few days.

    I went on last night and there was only one bill for September to Octobers usage nothing else.

    I'll check again before the site is shutdown.

    I phased over a few weeks after that date so should imagine there'd be an associated lag accordingly

    Just double checked. My final bill/statement was from 8th november.

    That would be the last bill on the portal, not the final bill I believe as British Gas did not take over supply until early December. So you will have the time between the 8th November and the BG start date to pay out of the balance you had at that point.
