Moved house no gas delay

If it's a prepayment meter, and nobody has topped it up for ages, then the credit will have run out.Once the meter credit is gone, and the emergency credit has gone, the meter will turn the gas off.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
@2006eyo that poster has been around much. You could try a private message (button at top of page to @mrsunnybunnyMWT said:Take a look at this thread and proceed very carefully, you do not want to end up on a business account with Pozitive.
@2006eyo - is the electric OK ? Are you in contact with the property developer ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
I know what you mean about conveyancers - we're 20 weeks in, with no chain at either end and supposedly largely cash buyers and it still hasn't happened. It's seemingly all being held up just now by some signed document that's gone awol. My next conversation with them will include the question "who do I send the bill to for the cost to me of the delays?"2006eyo said:

don’t get me started on the conveyancers seemed very slow and not very professional. We are 1st time buyers so had no clue it can be this hard. We will look through the info that got sent over from them and see if there’s anything that can be done in regards to this.
I did just grab my copy of the property questions form (although don't get me started on how stupid and badly and ambiguously worded the questions are on that form) and there is a section - no.13 'Connection to utilities and services' - that asks you to tick yes or no 'for which of the following utilities and services are connected to the property and details of the providers'. It also asks for details like where the meters and stopcocks are located. The buyers' solicitor went through this in enough detail to come back with some very specific questions about my answers that at least showed that they'd read it carefully. It's a standard Law Society form, so as I understand it, all sellers have to complete it and all buyers' solicitors should go through it for you as part of their due diligence.
Good luck with getting something connected.0 -
In the meantime... What sort of boiler is it, and do you have a separate hot water tank? If you have a hot water tank, have you checked to see if it has an electric immersion heater? Just in case there is one and that at least means you can have hot water...0
