Which car for long back, short legs?

My husband (67) has an historical spine injury, from which he's almost completely recovered but which he needs to protect. He's 6'1", but has quite short legs - inside leg 29"- so a very long back. He was very uncomfortable in my Peugeot 308CC. We currently drive a Skoda Fabia TSI, which is fine for our day to day use, but we plan to hire something more comfortable for him for an upcoming long journey to visit family. 350 miles each way. Any suggestions?

  • Apparently the new Toyota Corolla has one of the best front seats in the segment.

The ones that are 'curved and shaped' support in all the wrong places with a long back (Polly Peugeot was perfect for me, misery for him)

Even with a car like our Volvo XC60 with multiway electric seats, I still have to add a cushion to help my poor old back. With the cushion it's the most comfortable car I've had in years.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

He had an ancient Volvo estate when I met him, he was very sad when it finally expired (didn't respond to CPR!)

As this is a money saving forum surely you use the Fabia you already have, as you know it will be comfortable. Anything that you hire you won't know if it's comfortable on a long trip until it's too late.
