    Update on this:

    Letter from DCBLegal,

Having reviewed the content of your Defence, we are writing to inform you that our Client intends to proceed with the claim.

    Didn't expect any different tbh.

Will now fill in the Small Claim Directions Questionnaire.
  • Apologies if I'm having a brain fart here guys - but I am filling our the n180 form and I've all but completed it according to the guidelines. However, I'm a little bit confused by the box here 'in the' with regards to the text below.

In the...what am I filling in there?

If it has not yet been allocated to a court local to you, you can just put Civil National Business Centre (CNBC) and the claim number from your claim form goes where it says.

Without trawling back through the thread, if the clam has been allocated to your local court, then, obviously, it is that court that you put in the "in the" box.
  • One more question on the n180 form just looking if anyone would have advice.

I will be leaving my current address in on the 1st July and will be abroad for the time being. So I won't technically have a home address in the U.K for the moment.

On the form there's a box for your full name and address for service , I was going to put my parents home address as that is the only address that is safe for any mail to be delivered for the foreseeable future.

My concern is that any further letters from the court that I expect to receive after sending this n180 will be sent to my current address and if it's after 1st July I will miss it.

Is there any steps I can take to ensure that any further mail is not sent to my current address, call the courts to let them know about the change of address. Email claimant solicitors with the change too?

Why wouldn't you use the Royal Mail redirect service?

Hey @LDast yes I did consider this, although it can be quite expensive, but ultimately would be worth the fee.

It's still cheaper than a default CCJ.

Certainly would! I just wondered if there was a possible solution to informing the courts that I no longer live at the previous address, rather then just redirecting the mail from address that I would no longer live.

Just email the local court (if the case is allocated there by now) and cc in the Claimant's solicitors and tell them to ERASE the old address and note the new address for service for this claim, which is:

    NEW ADDRESS

This is a family address where the D can br reached but the D will be living abroad for the time being, and will not have a home address in the U.K for the Autumn/Winter (maybe into 2025).

As such, the D requests a remote hearing in the event that the Claimant does not discontinue and/or if the claim is not strick out due to CPR failures.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
