Afternoon all. We had rain and hailstones last night with a slight frost. It looked a bit brighter this morning but that didn't last long, now it's heavy rain and wind that's set to last for the rest of the day. I'm going nowhere today!
All today's jobs are done, or at least those that need doing - anything else can wait. I'm just waiting for the chicken drumsticks to cool down then I can strip the meat off the bones. I'll use some tonight for a Thai green curry along with spring onions and a green pepper from the fridge, peas from the freezer, half a packet of curry mix from the cupboard and half a tin of coconut milk. The cake tin is empty so I need to do some baking tomorrow, I'll have a think on what to do so I can make best use of the oven, but a custard tart will definitely be made to use up the other half of the coconut milk.
DH is currently curled up on the sofa under a throw watching the rugby - I don't need to watch as I can tell from his occasional cheers or groans what's going on!
The postie delivered three cross stitch kits this morning that I'd sent for using Xmas gift vouchers and I'm itching to start them but I'm being firm with myself and will finish the sewing up of knitting first. I sometimes think I have too many hobbies! Or maybe not enough hours in the day.Good news on the Covid front bellabella and csarina. Also for RedRuby re the diabetes but I hope you get more sense from the doc.
Ooo, cherry crumble Nels - lovely!
Hope your cat comes back dp1 - DD still hasn’t got hers back, been missing since before Xmas, so I think he too may have come to a sad end.
Sensible choice Gers and TA - staying at home and keeping warm is much more appealing than going out in this weather.
Well done Coxy, sometimes you just have to speak out to get results. I wish we had an Aldi near us, I’d definitely use it (but not on opening day obviously!)
Such good news about Val, Jackie, and fab that her daughter is helping with the recovery process. May she continue to make good progress.
That's enough waffle for now, stay safe and warm and enjoy the rest of the day. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Cold day here.
Went out early to prayer breakfast then walked into town. Wanted some fabric and popped in charity shop for 5 books at 20p each.
Going to make a tray bake to take along to Church tomorrow - will do a vanilla mix and top it with jam and coconut - always popular.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
