Morning all
Been wild and windy and rain pouring all night. I'm up and dressed as I have shopping being delivered from 9 -10am - my treat is a nice Danish pastry to go with my next cuppa.
Still feeling the same - but both jobs are happy for me to be off until after half term, so I have plenty of time to rest.
Had a lovely chat with eldest DD in Germany this morning while I was still in bed - she's very busy at work just now...but making time to enjoy herself too.
Sadly, my youngest cat has gone missing - he went out on Thursday morning and hasn't been back since. Although I live next to fields, across them is a busy road so I think he has probably been hit. DD put a post on Facebook asking for people to keep a look out for him.
Youngest DD is going to a friend's wedding today so little one is spending some of the day with my mam and dad and then the rest with me....mam will bring her up in a taxi later. DD is fretting about me being too tired to have her - I've told her to go and enjoy herself - I can always go to bed early! I'm looking forward to having her company to be honest. We have lovely new Playdoh so that will keep her busy.
Camelot - enjoy your little one's first sleepover - I hope there's some sleeping involved! The cuddles in bed in the morning makes it all worthwhile - that's my favourite time with little one - just lying snuggled in talking and looking at books.
Well, I'm going to wash up and wipe the fridge out before my shopping arrives.
Hope everyone has a good day today x

Morning all
Brrrr very cold and frosty here, must go out and defrost the birds water after this and give them some food.
Thanks for the good wishes re the DR, I actually saw a nurse who tbh was a bit useless, but I dont have diabetes which is a relief, I asked her what else it could be as the thirst is driving me mad, but she kind of dithered about a bit and could not answer, she has booked me a phone consultation on the 8th March so lets hope its nothing serious !
Ive got the dentist at lunch time to see the hygenist who will give my teeth a good clean, its always a nice feeling afterwards dont like the bill though but needs must !
OH will collect the shopping while im at the dentist and I will drop mums round to her, she is still feeling poorly but had a negative LF test yesterday, I will do a PCR test on her later today to make sure.
Steak and chips for dinner tonight with stuffed mushrooms and roasted tomatoes, OH will cook.
We have a house visitor coming tonight for the week, my sisters new puppyshe is an adorable little thing but my sister is her third home she is only 12 weeks
so she has some issues and is a bit of a madam, she was not taught manners at her previous homes it would seem, a week here with little dog will sort her out, she stands no nonsence from the young pups. My sister is off to Turin for the week, lucky things !
Have good days all and stay warm xxx14 -

Good morning
Wet & windy here🌧🌬 so I'm still tucked up in bed😴
I need to change the bed, do all the washing and then crack on with painting the furniture. I didn't do any yesterday as I suddenly felt really tired🥱
Hugs to all the sad and poorly, have as good a day as you can 🌻13 -
I chickened out of going out too! Brr.
Nice to 'see' you Orkney Star. I still remember a lovely photo you posted. It was a beautiful one of the sea. I wondered where u had disappeared to.

Morning everyone and thanks for the thread Gers.
I hope all those with rubbish weather stay safe and warm today. We have a cloudy but dry start here in Kent.
Had a heated discussion with boss yesterday morning about how it feels to be pimped out to whoever needs support. She got it! DH (who I share office space with) said I was a bit harsh (said a different word but can’t write it here), but I’m at the end of my tether tbh. We will see what might change. I’ve been asked to go into the office on a Thursday starting this week. Not enough desk space for us all to safely go in more than one day a week apparently.
Dinner last night was prawn curry. We visited the new A!di and it looked like a plague of locusts had been there. I guess the novelty of a new store and also people shopping for the weekend. We got what we needed bar a couple of things.
Today we are starting the decorating upstairs and will be sanding bedroom and bathroom doors plus the balustrade. It’s a rotten job, but needs must. It’s the start of several rooms we need to decorate as we’d like to move in a couple of years’ time and the house is looking dated. We plan to finish in time for the rugby though!
It’s DS1s birthday today and he’s off out tonight so has just dropped pup to us.
Dinner will be lamb shanks from A!di as DS2 gets fed at work.
Have a good day all and hugs to the poorlies and those with worries.

TravellingAbuela said:I chickened out of going out too! Brr.With age comes wisdom!Coxy - well done, sometimes these things just need to be faced without holding back. I had to learn to not use the word 'just' as it softens what needs to be said. If 'harsh' is what works then fine, the softly softly approach can be misunderstood too often.Ruby - I hope that the Dr is more forthcoming but it's a long time to wait.OrkneyStar - how lovely to see you again. Whenever I think back to my fantastic week with a guided tour of the wonderful Neolithic sites, and the more modern ones too, you come to mind. I really hope to get back this year inbetween my family trips to Germany and (maybe) Australia.I eventually got myself dressed though it was very tempting to only pull on joggers over my pyjama bottoms and a jumper over the top to save myself from the cold. But I didn't, this time. The ice speed skating is holding my attention then I have the new Reacher series to start on A*zon Prime, the new actor is much more in line with the build of the Reacher from the books. That's my day sorted then.

Hi Chums and thanks to Gers for starting the thread off.I had to drop jack at his part-time coffee shop weekend job off this morning at the Chatham Dockside outlet so I thought I would go in for a bit of a mooch Jack made me a lovely flat white bless him to warm me up as it was blooming nippy down by the river. Sun is out but it was only about 4c with a sharp wind blowing off the Medway river.
I went into The Works as I wanted to get a couple of bits for my GGDs as I am going to my DGDs house for Sunday dinner tomorrow.Got a nice Peppa Pig one for the eldest, and a magic painting one for the youngest, so reasonably priced as well. Had a mooch around The Range but didn't buy anything as even in the Range the prices are climbing up quite a bit.
Looked at the M&S outlet but nothing caught my fancy I have some gift vouchers to spend but decided to give it a few more weeks before spending.
Came home and had a brilliant text from my isi-in-laws daughter that they are letting her Mum, Val come home this afternoon They have removed her chest drains, and she seems to be a lot brighter and a bit more mobile. Its my birthday next Monday and its the best early birthday present I could get.
My oldest friend, whom I have been so worried about is getting out from the hospital, so fingers crossed she will keep on improving. I'm off to my eldest DDs for dinner tonight so we will be celebrating there as well
Dawn, her daughter is going to have her Mum at her house for a short while until she's able to go home.Val lives ina top floor flat in Bromley, and has three flights of stairs to climb, so until her remaining lung is working better she will stay at Dawns who I know will make sure her Mum gets the rest she needs. My Saturday just got a whole lot better with the news.
I'm making some Melting Moment biscuits for my DGGDs to take with me tomorrow as they love them.
No food shopping at all this week, and I'm out tonight, tomorrow and Monday night for dinner so very little cooking until Tuesday.
I finished my book 'Shuggie Bain' and started a new one called The Pact which is set in Oxford, a place I know fairly well as I used to live there back in the 1960s and met my late husband there.
I went back a couple of years ago, and its changed quite a bit but it was enjoyable to walk around its streets again.
Right time for some coffee and a quick tidy round, the sunshine tends to show the ravages of winter up doesn't it
Have a good day everyone what ever you are doing enjoy and stay safe and warm if possible
