I logged into Charter Savings this morning to find that it is now showing the correct monthly rate of 4.23% for my 1-yr fix - no reply to my secure message yet, but that will no doubt come today or tomorrow.

Rate chasers, like most of us, should likely hold.  However, some people just want to fix and forget it.  I know my parents would if I didn't offer to do it for them :D  At least if you are fixing now you are getting a good rate, even if it is not the optimum rate.
With easy access being 2.75% now with Santander, I would expect the fixed ones to rise in the near future.

Inflation is expected to come down to normal levels in around 3 years time. If like me you want a monthly interest income, we need to see what the 5 year fixes do in the next few months.

Yep I'm thinking there might be potential for a 5 year in the 6% ish range in the next 6 months or so.

Cahoot still exist?  I have not heard that brand in ages, I thought Santander had folded it in.
