Just fixed up a chunk of £££ with Atom 5 year @ 4.4% , it’s a gamble but considering current climate reckon it’s worth it. Any thoughts ?
My thoughts are that most of that five year period will not fall within 'the current climate'.

just a heads up that Zopa have updated their terms today and will shortly be offering fixed rate pots in their Smart Saver product...
    Introducing Fixed Term pots

We’re planning to introduce new Fixed Term pots into our app as part of your Smart Saver. These will work differently to Access and Boosted pots, letting you lock your money away for 1 to 5 years and earn a fixed interest rate. We’ve added all the details to the Smart Saver terms.

Yes. It's been a bit of an oddity that they've been offering fixed rate ISAs for a while, but not similar non-ISAs.
i've just received an email that Zopa's Fixed-Rate Smart Saver pots are now available - though the rates are nothing to write home about!

The inflation rate released today shows that it's not coming down, and further destruction of Iran's oil industry would mean an increase in the price of crude due to reduced supply.
To me, the 'current climate' means that the base rate is more likely to go back up than down.

Can’t see the base rate going up but i suppose anything is possible. I’ve only fixed a relatively small £20k up for 5 years the rest I have floating around.

    Maturing Tandem Fixed Saver.
Does anyone know if the maturity option of another fixed term gives a better interest rate than the normal Fixed Saver advertised on their website?
    Thanks.

Looks like a few institutions have increased their fixed rates - for instance Cynergy is now 4.55% for a 12 month fix.
