Though Shawbrook do at least send SMSs to inform when deposit received which saves constant signing in!
Minimum deposit for the 1 Year is £1k. I didn't try doing a £1 test :-)0 -
Just for info, I've made a £1 test payment to a Shawbrook fixed rate account in the past without any issues. I think the important thing is that you fund the account with the £1000 minimum balance required within the funding window (which is usually a week or two for this type of account)mebu60 said:Though Shawbrook do at least send SMSs to inform when deposit received which saves constant signing in!

Shawbrook are brilliant at sending emails when rates go up, immediately up their instant access account.
Been with them for years for all sorts of accounts including ISAs and can’t fault them.1 -

Do you think (with your crystal ball) we'll reach a fixed rate of 4% or above before the end of the year?
Maybe even 5% into next year.....?0 -
I was thinking that but forecasters are saying that if the new Government freezes energy bills as is being reported, inflation will halve to 5.2% by the middle of next year - meaning that they'll be less incentive for BOE to increase interest rates to the kind of levels we were expecting.DaveyCee said:Do you think (with your crystal ball) we'll reach a fixed rate of 4% or above before the end of the year?

I've got a chunk of change I'd like to put in fixes and was going to hang on to until rates improved next year but I'm rethinking that now.0 -
I was reading the Financial Times yesterday and even after liz truss’s plans were mentioned experts still think BOE will put up rates considerably over the next 6 months. A 0.75% increase isn’t out of the question next week .1

Norway has the north sea that just keeps on giving. We on the other hand seem to have the magic money tree that just won’t die.
