  • I've just opened both the Oxbury 90 day notice account and the 2 Year Fixed.

When I try and transfer my initial deposit from my registered account it is giving me the error:

"The payee's bank has advised that they are unable to accept this transaction.  Please contact the person you are sending money to, check the details and try again."

The details are definitely all correct.

Has anyone experienced this before ?

I'm replying to my own message.  30 minutes after my account was opened I was then able to transfer funds over.  There must be a delay in them updating their systems to recognise your 'linked account'.  All fine now.
  • After opening Vanquis 3 year & Oxbury 2 year fixes (but not yet funding either yet) I've plumped for the Ford Money 2 year fix with monthly interest paid away (I always prefer this option as it's regular monthly income & is spread over current / future tax years)

It was a seamless process to sign up & gives 21 days to fully fund the account...and most importantly accepted my preferred nominated account (unlike Vanquis!)

I'm happy to forgoe the higher interest rates for an account that works for me...ie monthly interest paid away & acceptance of my preferred nominated account

Just had my first experience of a Charter maturity and impressed what a seamless process it all was.

    - Options given a couple of weeks before, with up to 2 days before to amend if needed.
    - Better rates offered on new Fixed Bond. Got 5.81% on a new 2 year.
    - Chose to put some into an Easy Access and the rest into a new Bond.
    - Woke up this morning and all done at start of day.

Been with Charter for a while now and always been happy with them.

I’ve just done exactly the same .

With the 2 year fix I went for annual interest and I think the AER is 5.97%, so for let’s say £10000 does that mean I get £597 interest the first year and then 5.97% interest on that £597 in the 2nd year.

So about £11191.52 after 2 years

    It does…..exactly correct.
  • Hi, is the oxbury 2 year fix still available? I was looking on here yesterday & someone mentioned it was, but I can't find it on their website.

Just checked and both 1 & 2 year FS are still available when logged in. As previously stated, you have to open an easy access or notice account first to be able to access.

OK, thanks. I'll do that now. Will I have to fund the easy access account before I can get the 2 yeat fix.

I don't think so, but no harm in funding it with £1.
