Ditto. Couldn't agree more.jacko74 said:Hopefully the regular banks will now match NS&I's 6.2% for 1 year... I'd rather use one of them than have to deal with all the convoluted processes that NS&I seem to insist on using.
We have £100K in p/bonds with these jokers.....don't know what will happen if we ever want to cash them in !2 -
Whilst I accept that some people have had problems cashing in Premium Bonds, NS&I were the quickest to pay out once I'd obtained probate for my father....#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660

Opened a bond with £3k a couple of hours ago and it's now showing in my account. Another 17K coming their way in 10 days time (unless some other institution gets their act together...).#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660

There's really no need to worry. You see a lot of moans because NS&I have a lot of accounts, but I have withdrawn money from premium bonds online several times and it's done in a day or two without any hassle at all.subjecttocontract said:

1. Their ability to screw up is legendary so they have lost my trust in the same way that Virgin Money have lost my trust.
2. I operate out of a tablet most of the time, an Amazon Fire tablet and NS&I don't support my Silk browser.
I think if NS&I were to offer a good tax free account (as they have done in years past), along with the unlimited FSCS protection I would probably, consider changing my set up & placing my considerable accumulated wealth with them. But it aint gonna happen at the moment.

Like any financial institution, NS&I list a set of supported browsers.2. I operate out of a tablet most of the time, an Amazon Fire tablet and NS&I don't support my Silk browser.

They are virtually the same for most providers.
I have never seen a provider list Silk as a supported browser and don't think that NS&I's lack of support for it is a fair criticism.
In fact reading how Silk works (via Amazon's servers), I wouldn't want to use it for any financial transactions and am thus not suprised banks won't support it1 -
With NS&I increasing the fixed rate / term bonds whilst the regular banks lowering FTBs is this more proof of the cartel the banks are running, and should the authorities take action against the cartel?😂0

Or is it actually because the government took action that they are now lowering top end rates to increase their average offerings?metrobus said:With NS&I increasing the fixed rate / term bonds whilst the regular banks lowering FTBs is this more proof of the cartel the banks are running, and should the authorities take action against the cartel?😂Ex Sg27 (long forgotten log in details)Massive thank you to those on the long since defunct Matched Betting board.0 -
That’s assuming they increased lower rates substantially, the bottom line is they are acting as a cartel.0
