For info - MSE have now introduced a new table for the best short-term fixed savings accounts - ie. fixed rate accounts of less than a year.
Currently topping the table are Kent Reliance (via Flagstone) @ 2.15% for 9 months and Shawbrook @ 2% for 6 months.11 -
Al Rayan have launched a 1-Year Fixed @ 2.35% - min £5,000 with interest/profit paid quarterly or reinvested.

Annual rates are creeping up . I think 2.5% might be the point to go for a year fix.
I read differing "expert" opinions on where rates will hit the ceiling
but nobody knows of course.1 -
Cynergy have just launched a new range of 1-3yr rates.
1 Year - 2.28%
2 Year - 2.68%
3 Year - 2.80%0 -
For anyone that’s interested TSB have bumped up their fixed bonds finally today
still poor though!0 -

https://www.kentreliance.co.uk/bonds/1-year-fixed-rate-bondsOk, I have taken the bait. Two reasons-
A, The 1 year fix pays monthly interest at 2.33%
B, I will be house hunting next year so I can’t keep on waiting for the interest savings rates to go up again, which of course they will. Still have plenty more money to save when the next batch of savings rates come along. I will use the ladder trick.

Interesting! applied for 1 year fixed, was confirmed and showing open on website awaiting to fill up with money in the next 7 days (did send £1 test) – ha, now it’s not showing on my accounts after re-logging in 3 hours later.

Re: Kent Reliance... where it says "Additional deposits are not permitted.", does that mean that after you've made your initial deposit of (1k+), you can't add more to the account e.g it's a one-time only deposit ?
