If I open a Gatehouse fixed term bond and state my opening deposit is £1k, when I come to send the deposit does it have to be £1k or could I send more? If I opened with £1k can I then add more funds once it has gone through ok? Thanks0

Unlikely, but the worse is that it could bounce back. If they query it just say you changed your mind about the initial amount.1 -

I sent a £1 test, which was, as expected, rejected (they send a 'rejected deposit' email, so confirming the details are correct); I then sent more than the amount indicated on my application, without any problem.1 -

TSB have upped their fixed bonds already
i fancy the 3 year at 4.88%

I already have cash with TSB and so I’d rather stick with them for the sake of a extra small amount of interest0

If it were easy access I would agree, but for a 5 year fix, that extra 0.1% might be worth the hassle.0
