  • Secondly, I hope this has shown ALL those who are thinking about going bankrupt to get rid of their debt that not EVERYONE will back you up. You WILL come across people who will show their feelings towards you. It's ok being in a group who all give you internet hugs, but in the real world, people do have opinions and they are allowed to tell you them. I'd go as far as stating it's part of bankrupcy. This very board is called 'Bankrupcy and Living with it'. There is absolutely no point wrapping someone up in cotton wool on a forum when in the real world, living with it means dealing with the precussions.

Well, I can safely report that in the 'real world' i have had nothing but total support from my friends and family and nobody has ever ONCE rounded on me pointing out the morality of declaring myself bankrupt.

Who do you think you're kidding Graham?

Your posts are deliberately provocative, and you're part of a sad little group who only seem to be capable of enjoyment at other people's expense.

For some people getting support in a virtual world like this gives them the strength to face their problems, and bigots in the real world.

If you really are running a successful business, which I very much doubt, then you must have a serious personality disorder to gain any sort of satisfaction from kicking people when they're down.

I'm lost. The mentality that I'm dealing with her is way beyond me.

I can write a post explaining things, yet AGAIN wish lou well, but nooo, has to end in more abuse.

Keep yer abuse, the stigma is alive and kicking is all I will say.

Richard, your insight into my business is truly fascinating. However, I have nothing to prove to you. Nothing. So yes, if you want, think my business is failing, you already gone off on some strange tangent about me having 1 client.

Figure this out. I'm self employed, I have proved my income to gain a mortgage in 2006, based on a self employed person. How would I do that?

Your not thinking before your typing.

Hery Graham - What exactly IS your business ... only it sounds great, you get paid but clearly don't have to do much work as you have been almost constantly posting here since the middle of last evening ... wish I could find something that pays well but seems to require no actual work ... go on share the secret!

Then my friend you are very lucky... some of my friends were very supportive as they knew what hell I have been though for years with one thing and another, and my family was, well kind of supportive, but even before I went BR there were a few that rounded on me for it, and yes Graham is right, there is a stigma attatched to it, as there are most things in life I am sorry to say.

I'm the same as Graham, work v. long hours but pop on here during the day for 5 min breaks. Doesn't mean that I'm not at work, or working. I like to think of it as my 'cigarette break'.

I'm lost. You keep proving that every time you post Graham. The mentality that I'm dealing with her is way beyond meAs are a lot of things in your life if your posts reflect the "real" you..

I can write a post explaining things, yet AGAIN wish lou well,If you really do wish lou well, then you'd do her favour by not posting on here. but nooo, has to end in more abuse. Isn't that why you keep coming back?

Keep yer abuse, the stigma is alive and kicking is all I will say.Now that's a relief.:D

Richard, your insight into my business is truly fascinating. The only insight I have are your contradictory posts. However, I have nothing to prove to you. Nothing.Strong emphasis on the word "nothing"So yes, if you want, think my business is failing,I've no idea whether it is or not, you keep bringing the subject up. you already gone off on some strange tangent about me having 1 client. You said that you were "on a retainer and being hourly paid;" that's not the usual definition of a business!! Then we have 5 contracts and 17 regular customers; "phew" things picked up quick there Graham.

Figure this out. I'm self employed, I have proved my income to gain a mortgage in 2006, based on a self employed person. How would I do that? A self certification with Northern Rock perhaps.:confused:

Your not thinking before your typing. I don't need to think before typing a response to you; it's like beating a 5yr old at chess

I'm sure somebody appreciates you lovely personality Graham; your mother possibly? A dog or a cat maybe, or did that end up on the BBQ?

Just a bit of advice to everyone before you start posting.

After the debacle of what was supposed to be a support thread for someone that had taken the decision to go bankrupt can I ask everyone - whatever board you have come from to do a little bit of reading before you give your opinion.

Check back through the posts of the people who have gone or who are thinking about declaring themselves bankrupt, and see what they were and are asking before the day, read their stories, see what emotions they were going through before the day and get a little sense of what they are going through before you decide what to post.

Please do not make snap judgements, that is what causes the problems on this board, you may think that we all have a thick skin on here, but I think some of the very ill thought out remarks from both sides shows us all how stressful the situation we find ourselves in can play havoc with your emotions!

Another thing to bear in mind is that some people seem to have the wrong idea about the Congratulations offered on this board.

This is as a way of support for being brave enough to face doing it both mentally and emotionally not as a pat on the back for going bankrupt!

Remember the stress of debt is an enormous thing, whether you have the great fortune to be able to pay it back or are in the process of bankruptcy - especially this time of year! - so if we know we can come onto Martin's boards to get a little bit of tlc and support all the better.

Remember some people have no one else to talk to except the guys on these boards about the situation they are in, so please think before you post.

Be constructive, be supportive, give advice, that is what each of these boards are for.

So play nice people if you can, and remember the old saying about 'if you can't say anything nice'.

Off to the park with my little lad now, will pop in when I get back.

    Jules x
