When was the last time someone came to read your meters?

I honesty can't remember when I last had someone physically come out and check my meters? I vaguely recall that energy companies used to have to do this a safety check and would take readings at the same time. It might be 10 years or more since I actually had someone come round and do this though.

they come out quicker if you dont send meter readings.0

Suppliers no longer have to read meters. Under their Licence Conditions they are though required obtain a meter reading once every 12 months. This reading can come from a meter reader; a smart meter or from the consumer. Suppliers are required to have a policy to undertake meter checks but the policy sits with the supplier.What_time_is_it said:I honesty can't remember when I last had someone physically come out and check my meters? I'm on a smart meter, but they come and read them every year for themselves.0

sort of. If the smart meter started to underread or not send meter readings and you went into the red because of this, the energy company would find it hard to reclaim energy "older" than 12 months if they didnt read the meter and made a mistake. It is part of the back billing rules from ofgem.

Last year. The guy said it's done when people don't provide meter readings and was surprised when I said mine are submitted without fail each month and the bill settled within a few days.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0

In the 12 years I have been in current house and several suppliers, my electric meter has never been read by anyone other than me.
Morrison Data Services and Lowri Beck are the 2 biggest meter reading companies along with several smaller ones. Probably in the region of 3000 or more meter readers reading meters every day, but only when the supplier requests it0 -
Not had my electric meter read by anyone other than me for around 15 years
