Octopus Go tariff.

I believe that Octopus were forced to classify Go as 'variable' so as to qualify for the government price reduction because new fixed tariffs are excluded. Technically Octopus could increase prices. In practice they bring out a new Go tariff with higher prices for new (and renewing) customers.70sbudgie said:
Thank you for this. But what does it actually mean? Is it variable in that it has two rates, or because it is no longer a fixed term tariff and the rates could change any time (with notice ) I am aware that Octopus changed some of their product names to improve clarity with the EPG.Dolor said:‘Octopus Go is a variable tariff, with your daily standing charge, quoted day rate and night rate per kWh (for 4 hours starting 00:30)’.
You are free to switch tariffs at anytime with no penalty but with the following caveat:
‘Whilst you can always switch from standard tariffs to smart tariffs if you decide it’s not for you, If you switch from Agile Octopus, Cosy Octopus, Octopus Go, and Octopus Go Green to another Octopus tariff, you cannot switch back to a smart tariff within 30 days.’0
