    Hi All,

I usually pay direct debit to Bulb but recently I have reduced my usage but they have increased the DD based on the upcoming price increase.

I like to be more in control as I had a lot of credit in my account and wanted those used first  so I contacted Bulb to change this to direct debit of just what I use and only pay what I use each month. I have smart meter.

But does this mean the amount will be slightly more or is it still classed as direct debit payment method?

Martin Lewis stated that the amount is cheaper if paid by direct debit, I still want direct debit but was not happy with having large amounts in credit.

Providing you are on "whole of bill direct debit" that should be at the same rates as monthly direct debit.
