The government found 37 billion for track and trace.
They need to do more to end fuel poverty homelessness, they should cut vat on fuel. France are doing much better

Well just remember they think they are going to get a lot more back from the loan than the £200 they are loaning.  Just wondering how much they can get back from houses repossessed by the banks.

The £200 energy loan is something different to that being discussed here, which is the £150 council tax rebate.

Should have made it clear that my comment was about the gov spending so much.
How much extra VAT are they raking in at the moment on domestic energy and road fuel alone ?

  • I am in the end stages of completing on a property so therefore haven't taken over the council tax yet. How will I ensure this is paid to me and not the previous owners? Any ideas?

I believe the date you have to own is 1st April
  • Very disappointed here in Clackmannanshire. We are not getting rebate of £150, the council have deducted £150 from our annual bill so they get the cash from Scottish Government to dish out but they are keeping it for themselves. Not sure this is legal!!

Sorry I somehow missed this.  I'll give an answer although I strongly suspect you don't need it.  A minimum of 54% plus a % for all those people whose fixed term has finished since this fiasco started.  Hopefully will compensate then for all the money they threw away on unless PPE & the millions it is costing for some reason still storing it despite it being OOD.

Didn't Scotland make the decision to all do it this way, it shouldn't make any difference to the amount to actualy get.

You are still getting £150, so you pay less in april and use the cash to pay energy supplier. Decision taken in scotland to do this.

Easy to cut vat but instead used this crap rebate, increased NI took away price cap. But dont worry just look at the second home mansions in london owned by sunak gove truss RM truss raab zahwi to name a few and remember we are paying the fuel bills at those homes too
