I do not understand why it is 7p above the the quoted figure of 27p quoted by IfgemOK so I can't explain why your "Flexible 6" rates were so much lower than Shell published, and (at 16.93p/kWh equivalent) also 4p/kWh lower than the October cap. However, the reason your current day rate is higher than the single-rate cap is down to how the E7 cap is calculated.Your new rates are equivalent to 27.7p/kWh, complying with the cap for N Wales & Mersey and London regions.

I've just had my first gas bill since the rise, £128 for the month, I'm on a fixed deal with Octopus. I'd used 1450.07 kwH, lowest since December. Heating now off, coat on! I hope to be in credit again by the autumn.£216 saved 24 October 20140

If you are on a fixed deal you did not have an increase?youth_leader said:I've just had my first gas bill since the rise, £128 for the month, I'm on a fixed deal with Octopus. I'd used 1450.07 kwH, lowest since December. Heating now off, coat on! I hope to be in credit again by the autumn.0 -
My fixed deal was going to end and I was offered a new 'loyalty' fixed deal. I did try to turn the heating off more regularly, but obviously not enough, still using too much. Not good at snipping - electricity on the left, gas on the right.

That suggests that you were not on the variable rate before... did you have a fixed tariff that ended recently?Proview111 said:Sorry you are wrong my Shell day figure was 20.95 and night 11.37.

Prices are crazy nowadays. Tried to help my new neighbour to find the cheapest tarrif and only 2 companies are selling overpriced tariffs. (Electricity standing charge is 45/day and usage is 37p/kWh), my current tariff is 21.33/day and 17.45p/kWh, madness on the market.0

Did Shell Energy move you on to their ‘Flexible 7’ tariff after being on the ‘Flexible 6’ tariff or did you go on to some other Tariff ?RolandFlagg said:Our Shell bill going from about £1900 a year on Flexible 6 to nearly £2800 a year on Flexible 7.
Fixed rates I've looked at are about £3500.
If so which Tariff did you move to ?
Many thanks,0
