TTA not refunding for accommodation only
Comments

If it was a debit card, the right to claim is not a legal one, unlike a credit card. Both Mastercard and Visa impose a 120-day limit on their schemes so if you paid in 2019 there is realistically no chance of them paying out.
This leaves the question of where is your money? TTA promised on their website that all money, for all products, was held in a trust account. As you didn't travel and the accommodation was almost certainly closed, it seems they spent your money somewhere else. Making false statements may amount to a criminal offence but the only people who can enforce the law are Trading Standards, which in the case of TTA are based in Surrey. If by some miracle you are based there, then as a resident you should be able to contact them directly. If not, then you can contact Citizens Advice either by phone or a local office if there is one, and they will collate the complaints and pass them on.1 -
I have two claims with them.... Does anyone know what date the Rip Off Britain piece was on TV please?
My bank won't refund as over 120 days have passed.
The TTA number goes straight to voicemail.. No one ever returns my calls. I would've done a chargeback sooner but Alpha were apparently sorting it!
After over 100 emails I still have had no refund.
Ive filled in TTAs form for people refused a chargeback and I just ger6a stupid email back saying the bank will expedite it.. Um they won't it's been rejected....
Rip off merchants!! This is the latest email:Dear Dean ,
Thank you for sharing the details of your card issuer.
We are aware that some card issuers have not been able to communicate internally fully with all of their customer touch points.
We therefore have a card issuer internal escalation process and we will now share your specific case with our escalation contact.
We anticipate that the card issuer will contact you directly, however if they need further information, we will keep you updated of the progress.
Kindest regards

Rip Off Britain did a 2-week holiday special in January this year. They ran a horror story about Teletext Holidays on the Wednesday of the first week and Alpha Rooms the following day. (looking on the i player I think it is series 10 episodes 3 and 4) At the end of each piece, they noted the companies had failed and the TTA had refused to speak to them. ROB is on at present but the stories will have been decided long before now unless, and I am not aware whether this will be the case, they run a week of live shows. (Just checked and I believe they may be about to start live shows so send an email pronto, the address is RipOffBritain@bbc.co.uk)1
