I won’t need the £50 I’d put aside in the budget for diesel before payday now, so have sent that to the CC instead. The balance has gone up on it this week with the purchase of a shelving unit/sideboard for one of the problematic alcoves and some bedding for DS. After this £50 payment there will be around £180 to clear which I’ll work on first next month.
I won’t be sending the usual OP to the mortgage, so that’s £100 towards clearing it if I don’t add that to savings as planned. The card is 0% interest so won’t hurt to pay off in smaller chunks if so but I don’t rest easy with a CC balance these days.

It is much nicer to be CC free. I have a slight balance and even though I'm debt neutral multiple times over it's nagging at me.

Yes, me too SH, other than the mortgage of course. You summed it up very well, it ‘nags’ at me too!

I’ve had such a lovely day today. I woke up tired as usual but the sun was shining and there was a chill to the air with a lovely fresh gentle breeze blowing - my favourite kind of weather. It has really brightened my mood.
DS had a lift to school this morning so by 8.20am I was pulling all the furniture out and promptly gave the whole house a good Hoover through. I stripped my bed and washed the bed linen and have managed to get two loads of washing washed and dried on the line today. I pulled out everything in one of the only cupboards we have upstairs and sorted it all out. Lots has gone to charity, earmarked for being sold or thrown. I have now been able to clear stuff that had been sat on the floor of my little office (3rd box bedroom) and put it all away in the cupboard. Several items got listed or re-listed on fb and I now have 3 bin bags full ready for the charity shop and moved downstairs ready to put in the car.
I am trying to make my little office a nicer place to work as I’ll be spending a lot more time in there soon. It’s one of two rooms I haven’t done anything to since we moved here and the walls are a bit of a state and it desperately needs redecorating. I’m having a think about what to do in there first though as I’d like it nice and bright but it is a tiny room, I’m not even sure how they marketed it as a bedroom tbh as I’m not convinced a bed would actually fit in there…

I then cut the grass and in getting the lawnmower out, turned my attention to some of the junk in the shed. I advertised two items for free on fb which should be picked up by the end of the day. I’ve listed 4 items for sale, one is due to be collected any minute for £10. There is more in there which could be listed but that can wait for another day.

The utility also got a bit of a tidy today as best I can. It’s a difficult room to do much with as the cupboards are the old (very old and tired!) kitchen units re-purposed by the previous owners for the space and don’t fit that well, but it will do for now. It looks tidier in there than it did this morning anyway. I wish I had the money to rip that room out and start again, we tend to just shut the door on it and avoid it atm. In a few years perhaps!

Sounds like you have done really well. Lovely to have £ in exchange for clutter too.

Thank you PiggyBankShaker and savingholmes xx

DS and I had another lovely evening last night, we've just had such a nice week together, I'm really sad he's off to his Dad's today.

After dropping DS at school today I took the three bin bags to the charity shop, am pleased to get them out of our way as we don't have a lot of space or a spare room to store these things now.

I popped into BandM before the charity shop opened and picked up some cleaning products, crisps and decaf tea bags I'd run out of and also a couple of bits to put away for DS's Christmas stocking. Just over £21 spent in there. I now have around £100 to last the next week until payday. All of the bills have been paid and I only need to pick up a few grocery essentials so that should be more than fine. No spends this weekend though.

I've read online that I may be eligible for a local council energy grant of £200, paid in the early months of next year. My energy is affordable at the moment as I am still on a pre-price rise fix, but it's due to run out next year so this will really help if I am eligible. Will have to look into that some more.

Someone has inquired about a £5 item on fb and is due to collect today. I'm not entirely sure it's what he thinks it is though despite trying to explain to him, so I won't be surprised if he doesn't take it. I've had inquiries about a couple of other items too, so will be really pleased if more sells. There's nothing of major value, but it will be space cleared and extra £'s in my pocket.

Some of DS's new bedding arrived yesterday so it's in the washing machine ready to line dry today. I may try and get another load done too if there's enough to justify putting the washing machine on - it's such a lovely drying day.

Have a good day all x

Another £5 received and another item gone. :)

DS's new duvet set is washed, dried and on his bed ready for his return on Sunday. :)
The set that was on there already is now in the wash, hoping to get it dried on the line today as it's very breezy.

My new alcove shelving unit is arriving today. I really hope it fits without too much adjustment as, being an old house, the alcove walls are not completely straight. I get really excited about new furniture so will absolutely have to put it together today!
