If you paid off your mortgage in 2017, then it will show as a settled record on your credit file for 6 years from that date, so in this case until 2023 - I suspect this is why L&G are expecting to see an entry on your credit report to confirm this.

It is worth noting that not all lenders report to all agencies, so it may be that your lender doesn't report data to Experian and that is why it hasn't appeared on this report. The other consideration is that if it was a mortgage taken out some time ago (1980s early 90s) you might have never given your consent to have this data shared so it was never there in the first place. It might be worth a call to your old mortgage provider to ask them who they share data with before persisting with Equifax and TransUnion to help narrow down your search.

It won't if OP opened the mortgage account before they was such a thing as monthly updates to credit reference agencies or a permission to share data with credit reference agencies in the contract.

Many legacy accounts never appeared on account holders credit files.

OP: I think after this last bit of cheek from them a LBA is well suited. Put the frighteners on them.

L&G might not be satisfied that you have settled your mortgage but a judge certainly will be from your redemption cert.
