Virgin Media Won't Let Me Leave!

When the price increases were announced called up on 13th January and gave 30 days notice to leave with no penalty, told service would terminate 14th February but over two weeks later nothing showing up online.

The trouble is Virgin don't seem to want to let us go. There is nothing showing up about the contract termination online and we haven't received any instructions about sending back the TV box and router. I've spend most days on the phone for 3+ hours listening to terrible music but even when I do get to speak to someone the English language skills are terrible and they keep telling me there is a "problem with the disconnection" but when I ask for details it's very vague they need to "check the account" and put me on hold, then when they come back and I ask again what is happening they put me on hold again.

Anyway, today I was told in broken English that they had "processed the disconnection" and when I asked for clarification as to the termination date I was told "1st March" and when I protested that I had ALREADY given notice several weeks ago and was told it would terminate 14th February they just said "have a nice day" and hung up on me!

I am NOT paying for another month of service I neither want nor need when I followed all the rules and gave 30 days notice as required and did that within a few days of being advised of the price increase. But how do you sort this out when they won't put your through to a Manager and have the English language skills of a 4 year old? I've spent nearly seven hours on the phone already listening to One Direction and I'm beginning to go a little mad.

PS the email they promised would arrive confirming the termination still hasn't arrived 5 hours later.
