Sanctioned by Work-coach?

I know. Thought it was clear from my post that evidence should be provided to a Decision Maker to make a decision. It's not clear from this thread that the OP was ever asked to give their reasons.sammyjammy said:
The work coach hasn't imposed a sanction they will have made a referral to a decision maker, it's not their job to say what is reasonable in law or not.TheShape said:tacpot12 said:When you asked for the Mandatory Reconsideration, did you make it clear that the job offer was for less than the national minium wage and that this the reason you refused it?
Very little of this makes any sense.poppy12345 said:MoodyMand45 said:
Unfortunately i was told that i am not allowed to tell them anything until the Mandatory Consideration decision comes backtacpot12 said:When you asked for the Mandatory Reconsideration, did you make it clear that the job offer was for less than the national minium wage and that this the reason you refused it?
I don't understand this. The whole point of the MR process is that you fully explain the reasons why you're challenging the decision.
A Work Coach shouldn't be imposing sanctions.
The claimant's reasons for not accepting the job shouldn't be being gathered for the Mandatory Reconsideration. The claimant should have been given the opportunity to give their reasons before the initial referral to a Decision Maker who should make a decision based on the evidence presented. If a Mandatory Consideration is requested the claimant should then be able to explain why it's being requested and given the opportunity to submit any other evidence they believe relevant.
Was the OP given the opportunity to explain why they refused the offer of employment before a referral was made? The Decision Maker should have been checking that the OP was given this opportunity before any decision was made.
The title of the thread suggests that the OP thinks a Work Coach has imposed a sanction. The OP should have been asked to provide reasons for the 'failure' and then made aware that a referral was being made to a decision maker. It seems as though the OP hasn't been asked the questions they should have been asked or given the information they should have been given.2 -
Poor you - how on earth do they think you should go and work in care, if you can't get references!
It's the worst sector for needing such! with no let up.
I don't think I ever come across a care job that hasn't needed to check and a couple of places were insistent on knowing about every job since school.

Thank you all for your advice, i am overwhelmed with this response.
I have taken the advice on this thread and managed to get a phone call which has now led to a face to face interview at a DWP office with some manager, they have apologised to me and seem to want to make good on the situation.

Good luck - and I hope you can find suitable employment (as I infer that is what you want to do).Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1

Not in my area, at least not for care agencies or care homes. Sometime the local NHS trust offers apprenticeships.Jimjim78 said:From past experience I've found that high percentage of Care Sector employers only recruit apprentices. Same here - in my area care organisations find it really difficult to recruit and retain staff, which would only be amplified by trying to pay less than minimum wage. A quick look on Indeed shows most are offering more than minimum wage.ayupmeduck said:
