I bought house on a new estate in 2006 but I`m second owner. The prices here have been falling for the last year. House I bought was 40,000 cheaper than the previous owners bought it 2 years ago. I`m not sure how house prices are holding out on the more established areas. The one I sold was bought for 34,000 in 1997 and I sold it for 85,000 Oct 06. The house few doors away from me was sold at 82,000 9 months before and was bought for 34,000 Jan 01. Looks as if I have bought this house when property is falling yet again but as long as I don`t need to sell in the next 8 years I`m fine!

Once again carol, wrong assumpion, not all my proeprties were bought many moons ago!

    Can't say I really care.

If you wish to divulge more details of your 'investments' feel free (yawn), if not, that's fine.

My point was that you've rather hijacked the thread with details of yourself, a fascinating topic to you, I'm sure, but possibly less so to others. Most people reading here do not have large property portfolios and your experiences of property are just that - your personal experiences. You seem to think that because you have lots of properties your experience is somehow more important or relevant than others posting here with none.

House prices are determined by the wills of buyers as well as sellers. Those who believe, as I do, that house prices are falling and are going to continue to do so, have no interest in buying at the moment.

By all means, contribute if you genuinely wish to contribute to the debate on where house prices are heading, not if you just want to play patronising guessing games with other posters - too boring.

which area(s) of nottingham are you talking about here.

I'm assuming if you bought it for 40k less, the original owner bought it as a new build.

if so, he was lucky to only take a 40k losss.
    It's a health benefit ...

You are an idiot who resorts to abuse when challenged.

I know who I would rather see posting on here.

    Please go elsewhere.

Just to hack you off I am going to stay now. Those of us who don't believe there will be a house price crash have as much right to express an opinion on this forum as those who believe there will be and as has been witnessed by many people on here it is the same nasty bunch who resort to bullying and misquoting in order to prove their point, suppose desparate times call for desperate measures though don't they!

Also you need to get your facts right, read through the posts and see who first started dishing out the abuse when challenged it certainly wasn't me!!!

You said it DreamBreaker. And you're looking increasingly more desperate with every post you make. Don't you think it's morally bankrupt advising people to buy in a crashing housing market? Just because you are going down, doesn't mean you should try and drag as many others as you can down with you.
