Cheers I was to post a thread about that and saw this one, cheers.gt94sss2 said:According to https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11421065/Ban-non-barcoded-stamps-delayed-summer-Royal-Mail-climbs-down.html the deadline for using old stamps has been extended to the end of July 23.
I actually forgot we had a few fist class stamps around - easily forget as we rarely post anything and if so its a parcel via other sources.
Guys, check to see if you have stamps as its a lot of money to waste.0 -
Sorry if this has been asked already - after around 3 weeks (and a phone call to ask where they were), I finally got my stamps back on Friday.
For some reason I'd miscalculated and ended up with over £200 worth (I had lots from when I used to send Christmas cards for my business - and a neighbour over the road died and their niece who lives in Ireland gave us some "E" stamps which probably caused the miscalculation.
However, instead of a mixture of second and first class, they've sent back all first class stamps. Has this happened to anyone else? I'd like some second class stamps, but after the scandal for Post Office owners am very loathe to ask them to swap them as it might get them into trouble. Is there anything I can do?0 -
Thats odd because the E stamps should have been translated to the equivalent in 2nd class. Have you got the correct total value? If so, I'd be inclined to let it slide... sending back the 1sts and asking for 2nds might well be something that's not in their manuals.makethemostofit said:

Might not have been the E stamps, perhaps I miscounted a book, but you might be right - I've got so many stamps that they'll probably see me out, so sending things first class isn't that much of a problem really.0

Update:
1) The old-style stamps are now remaining valid until 31 July 2023
2) RM will make Swap Out forms and Freepost envelopes available to Post Office branches

How many people have had their stamps stolen from the swapout scheme?0

It's a concern. I always get a form online and use the pre-printed envelope and have never had a problem.lindylootoo said:How many people have had their stamps stolen from the swapout scheme?Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. Update on my woes - I counted my stamps yesterday and they hadn't sent me the right amount, they'd just swapped my first class stamps and none of the others - £40 was missing. I managed to get through on the phone (15 minutes) and they're sending me the rest. No real apology, and no sign of showing much surprise that there'd been a mistake made.0

I sent in a range of 1st/2nd small/large letter stamps to get them barcoded, and the Royal Mail have only sent back small 1st stamps, so they expect me to overpay 27p per letter or faff around making up postage for large envelopes. How can I get the variety of stamps I wanted?
