  • First, Thank You VERY much for your response and your time taken to answer my question.
Yes, I have worked out the cost as in your first paragraph, but all I was wanting to do was to get a ball part figure, as such.
Paragraph 2... Thanks for that info.
Paragraph 3 ... My gas meter is too far away from the electric meter with thick walls between, so gas meter will not communicate with the electric meter, hence the reason why I have to submit the reads every month, but the electric meter is not a problem.
Last Paragragh. I have done exactly that and put a video through to customer services and then the billing department contacted me to put another one through to them.
When my bill came out on 17.01.2022 showing the credit they owe me of £1562.57 I phoned them to ensure the money would go back into my account and NOT be held as a credit balance, and although I had to phone them twice because the first guy said he would get back to me and didn't (What a surprise!) the second person assured me that the money would be paid into my account.
Aside from all this, I wonder if their is anybody else that has been reading their meter incorrectly?
The reason I read my meter in this way was because the guy that fitted the smart meters told me that was the way to read them.
So, an update on communication with UW.
Phoned them yesterday (31.01.2022) morning at 08.03a.m. and the guy answered at 08.30 and he's now raised a complaint and I have the Ref: number. Finished with him on the phone at 09.03a.m. ( 1 Hour!). Apparently response time is 24 to 72 hours.. I am not interested in this because I spent hours on the phone to them in January to ensure this wouldn't happen, so I expect an immediate response.
So, I heard nothing from them, and phoned again this morning at 08.00a.m. and after spending another 10 mins on the phone the lady told me she would put a reminder message through to them.

My smart meter has A & B buttons, it's a Landis Gyr470 and the gas reading comes up as M3 which over the 6.5 years it's being in is 1903 units or 21,504 kWh.
Someone please tell me what money is

It's common place - I had gas and elec at my MIL's  - at floor level in a cupboard under the stairs.

It's made more confusing by the fact that the Elec is straightforward - the gas is read in m3 and that is the reading the suppliers want. Some people take the m3 reading x 11.2 and submit that - they get very big bills !
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
