We're a family of four travelling to France in the spring. Is there any card or any way of getting the best price for our train tickets? TIA!

Book as far in advance as you can, Eurostar doe not generally discount but they do use dynamic pricing and the more seats that sell, the higher the fare. It can be cheaper to buy a through ticket but SNCF does sometimes have discounts which mean you can save by buying separately. The real issue at present is how few trains are operating, I believe it is 3 a day at present and will rise to 5 but a lot less than before the pandemic0

I got an email a couple of days ago offering London - Paris tickets from £35 which is a few pounds less than the normal lowest fare. As Alan says you will only get cheaper fares by booking well ahead. As far as I know, Eurostar do not offer group or family tickets.

This morning there is word of a 'sale', their words, not mine, of 48,000 seats at £70 return, the offer mentioned by Martin above but 48,000 may sound a lot, each train has 850 seats so over 5 months, there aren't that many of them, so may be worth checking now whether those seats are available on the days you want to travel0

A simple way of booking for France is through Trainline, which will map out routes for you and take into account discounts on Eurostar, SNCF,etc. For comprehensive info on the French train system, try looking at 'The Man in Seat 61' website.0
