Constantly confused, often befuddled

So I rang the company regarding the job to ask some questions, and the manager said as I had applied two years ago and declined interview- I changed my mind and explained that to her- she has added me to the list and I should be invited to interview, hoping it will be this coming week as I am off more days than the following week!
I have already been called by my work, to get advice as management aren't answering- I am not on call, I am never on call, it isn't my role. Makes me feel guilty but I need time off, as part of me thinks, well I could go on care and help. Urgh. I did my best to give advice, and this is why I feel like I need another job or at least to move up, I am ready.
Weather is lovely, wind is cold but the sun is shining, will do some gardening today, and I plan to have some wine and listen to podcasts until hubby comes home later. We are going to be off together on Tuesday and I am really looking forward to it! Think the doggies are happy to have me home today, they have been alone (from me and hubby) more than usual in the last three weeks. Bet they will be glad I am back in work next week

Had a call from holiday company, will be getting refund for Kiev in three weeks, we have decided we will use some of the refund to donate to Ukraine, it feels like the good thing to do. It fills me with such sadness and fear and every little helps.
Had a good day off with hubby yest, we have put mesh down all over the floor of the chicken coop as rats are getting in, digging so many holes in the floor! We are hoping that this will make a difference, we may need to wrap more around the outside of the run, as the wire gets bigger holes the higher up, so they may be able to climb in. They are super cute rats, they are brown and I feel bad that they are losing a food source as they are only trying to survive, but they breed so much that we will be overrun if we don't get a handle on it! So fingers crossed!
Back to work tomorrow and I am just not looking forward to it at all, feel very unsettled about several things and am driving myself mad going over and over it in my head. Ah well, it is what it is.
Went for a walk for first time this month on Monday, managed over five and a half miles, was very hilly but it felt good to get out and move. I am going to be looking at how I can bring more movement into my life. Saw a stoat carrying a dead mouse, lots of birds, cows, sheep, lambs and squirrels, I do love nature!4 -
Well work was ok, back in for the weekend. Have got an interview for that job in two weeks, so will start swotting up as I want to make a good impression!
Weather has been stunning and I am enjoying it, looking forward to the clocks going forward as well, will be good to drive home in the light! A guy turned up at the house randomly on Wed, he had a picture of our house taken from the sky in 1979, it is so different its amazing, so I bought it for £50, it came with a really nice frame and I cannot stop looking at it! The whole area is recognisable but so different, our garden itself was just rows of veg beds! There was a secret garden bit at the end, which I have loved the idea of doing since we lived here, this feels like a sign I should do it!
Up to £16 on onepoll, youguv is being very very slow, am on the waiting list for prolific, I feel like perhaps these surveys are no longer as good as they used to be!2 -
That's £469.14 off the capital this month, and isn't it exciting to be in the next k bracket! Makes me super happy!!2

So payday today, little money shuffle concluded, and another £200 knocked off Disney, meaning £500 left to pay. Have added to holiday savings and EF savings. Makes me feel better than everything is slowly coming together!
There is the possibility of some very exciting work related news for hubby, it does involve spending before he can earn but it is definitely a positive risk and worth it in my opinion. As part of this we have purchased a second hand 4x4- this is needed for the work, it is SORN until the time it is required.
I had my interview this am, not sure how it went and am now not sure if I want it or not!haha. Change is always unnerving, so if I get it, great, if I don't then no problem!4 -
Oh lots of things going on with you and all sounding very positive
The picture sounds lovely .we have what some might call a secret garden behind our house ,its only very small but very pretty3 -
Just read your diary. You are spinning so many plates it's no wonder you are befuddled! Good idea to concentrate on the savings though as you can always use them to pay off a debt if you need to later. Good luck!3

Oh I love it tryharder! Secret gardens, no matter how small, are the dream! Definitely lots going on and hopefully all good!
Thanks CCW007! Life is always full of things isn't it! I think that since everything slowed down with covid, it all gets overwhelming so quick now things are going back to normal!
I didn't get the job, they hired internally, liked me a lot and have offered me a role which they don't currently have as they would like me on board, flattering for sure. It is really tempting, but it is ultimately more hours and less money an hour, and a technical step down from my current role. Work itself has been fine though, except I have come home early today as I have to go back at midnight tonight until 6am, as my deputy manager and I are sharing the night shift as nurse has called in sick and no cover, nice day nurse is coming in two hours early as well. Doesn't help that the deputy and I were in work for 8am today! I am also only doing 6hours on Friday instead of 12 so get most of Easter off!
Have seen another role which has caught my eye, in safeguarding, that could be a very interesting new challenge and certainly would be great for skilling up, I imagine no last minute nights eitherWill be having a good think on it!
Things are moving forward with hubbies possible work, the only issue is he works 60 hour weeks (and is only paid for 40!!) so getting time to get other stuff started is minimal. We could get by on just my wage but it would be tight as we have debts! He is thinking a part time job would probs make him feel better whilst allowing more freedom. Makes sense! Got a couple of months before he has to make the leap anyway!
Kos is flying up now, and I absolutely cannot wait!
Happy Easter all!3 -
So so tired today! Have slept until 1pm, now vegging on the sofa trying to find energy to move! I bought some new plants the other day and am trying to summon energy to plant them. I am doing 6 hours tomorrow supernumery and then am off so if I don't do it today, I have the weekend! Think the dogs are happy I am home anyways! Have moved the guinea pigs outside, wrappped the sleeping quarters up in a thermal cover and covered bits with plastic so they have rain proof areas in the run. They seem to be settling in well, they love the grass! I built a very rudimentary fence out of left over wood to keep the old dog away, she is obsessed and just stares through the fencing
Once upon a time, this fence wouldn't have kept her away, but she is so less active these days, bless her!
Both dogs have the vets on Tues, big dog has continued with the weird breathing, last time they said she was fine but it is getting worse and little dog has more big lumps which worries us. They are actually very close in size, so the big and little might be misleading haha. Will have to work out how to put pics on, would love to share some of the animals and garden!2 -
Well I potted my new plants, added another to the hedge and sowed some seeds on Thurs, yesterday I did a half shift in work after the night shift so was pooped again! Slept badly last night but it does take me a while to resettle after an impromptu night. Am out to a colleagues this afternoon and off to see family tomorrow so a busy couple of days planned! Will start doing some weeding as well as the border is wild again! It is a never ending battle!
We are going to look at setting up the large outdoor dog kennel as hubby has painted it, we can check all the wood and replace as needed, insulate the sleeping area and look at what we need for the run. We will be adding a larger enclosed run before we get the dog so that it has plenty of space when it isn't working. Things are moving slowly but surely.
I have saved £2k of my own money and am now debating just paying off the dentist, it is hard to know what is best, the finance is 0% so isn't costing me anything, I pay £77 a month which will clear it within the year and if I pay it off I drop £600 in savings. I like the idea of getting rid of it though! Hmmm will have a think. I could just pay a bit more off each month and get rid of it sooner, or keep as I am and save towards other things instead. Bah so many choices!2
