Morning allOH has gone golfing this morning with his friend, so I have taken the opportunity to get on. So far I have:Walked the dogHome grown fruit from freezer with breakfastWashed up, plus usual bathroom and kitchen clean upTidied and dusted bedroomHauled some items up second staircase to loft conversion / spare bedroom and put them awayPut some sales stock awayPut the recycling in the binListed an annoying compost caddy on freecycle (a lidded bucket is much better, but someone might like it, and that would get rid of it without resorting to landfill)Put a load of washing onPut a leftover bread end into the bag I keep for the purpose in the freezer - it will do for breadcrumbs or croutons at some point. Now sat with a cup of coffee! It is nice outside at the moment, so will go out shortly and do a little bit in the gardenLunch will be fridge shrapnel, and dinner will be smoked salmon pasta with chilli and lemon (BBC Good Food recipe to use up smoked salmon I bought for Christmas, didn't use and got put in the freezer. I am determined to empty that freezer!2

Morning!
I have a broadband engineer coming out today so soon I won't be paying an extortionate amount for broadband and a TV package which we don't use (i.e. the box hasn't been connected for months after we moved the TV onto the wall and OH dropped a connector down the wall and we never bothered to sort it out!). So soon will be paying £20 per month instead of £87 (and due to increase to £92!)
Today I have/will:- Check banks
- Check when remaining CC statements will generate - just want to make the payments!!!
- Text a friend to politely encourage a reassessment of the costs of a hen do planned for later this year!
- Add yesterday's food shop spend to spreadsheet
- Sort out what needs washing for this weekend - going away with friends
- Wash on 30 degree eco wash
- Hang washing on airer
- Cook spag bol in the slow cooker (never tried doing it that way so hope it's good!)
- All food from home
- More gift crocheting! (Although I wasn't happy with what I was making so have started something else - pattern from a book I have and yarn from stash of course!)
Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,435.00
Total paid off - £10,165.89 (65% paid off)4 -
Morning all - that's a great result on finding those euros Dawn!
We've both now been paid - money shuffle all done at my end. I need to remember that there is £500 sitting in the joint account that shouldn't be there as MrEH has still not sorted out his new C0v regular saver account. Sigh. We'll need to decide whether we're best off just deferring the first payment to the beginning of February now and shoving this month's into normal savings as otherwise it comes out annoyingly late into the month. We'll see - if he can sort it at any stage this week it's probably still doable. Also need to remember that the council tax/water rates money needs to be rehoused.
Food is planned for the rest of week and I think I'll aim for shopping in Al's this week - I'm also aiming to keep the amount we need to buy right down too. Should be achievable as we still seem to have plenty in the freezer and we're pretty well served for basic veg too. I need to really have an impact on the freezer before I can do that section of my "stocking up" list so attention to be turned to that again!
I have a list on my diary of financial stuff that needs to be looked at/sorted out - so plan to deal with some of that today. I also think I need to list out exactly what goes where to various savings now as it's getting a bit overwhelming trying to remember!
Oh and MrEH's car is now fixed - sounds like there will be £250 for us to pay on that so not too bad although grateful for the warranty picking up the other £700-odd on the bill! SO relieved that it happened when it did while there was still just a month left on the warranty from when we bought it! He's planning to collect the car in the morning I think, it'll be good to have it back!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
