When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Morning DNMS!
My money saving priorities for this week are garden-based, sorting out a new (free) strawberry bed & preparing everything ready for seed-sowing time. Also intend to sit at my desk to do some number-crunching re this year's savings priorities. I want to work through various scenarios to see which looks most beneficial.
Also intend sorting through all my leftover sock yarn with a view to knitting a few pairs of socks for Mr F.
Wishing everyone a good start to the week.

Morning all - thanks for the thread Determined!
-Banking is checked and MrEH has been paid - mine will hopefully follow at some stage today. I can then do the start of month money shuffle and get everything where it needs to be.
- There is a small surplus remaining in the joint account from last month - that will be transferred to the Marcus
- My Car was filled with diesel yesterday so that should hopefully last for a couple of weeks
- My car needs it's MoT booking - but we need to get MrEH's back from the garage first!
- Need to check whether my car also needs a service - if it was serviced last year then it will stretch a bit longer yet as it is there on time but not on mileage - but if it wasn't then it will definitely need doing.
- MrEH emptied the WM and hung the bedding that had been washed on the airer this morning
- DW needs emptied tonight
Food for the week is planned out - including the rest of a rather tasty curried parsnip and butternut squash soup I made last night which is planned in for tomorrow - it'll get tin of chick peas and some chorizo thrown in some add some texture and bulk it out a bit. Tonight is pasta, and I can't recall offhand what I wrote down for Wednesday and Thursday.
We also got a big shop done yesterday including lots of items off my "stocking up" list - somehow we managed to find space for it, too! A fraction under £40 spent but we now have stores built back up on cleaning stuff, loo rolls, tins and some other bits.

Busy day here at TwigTowers! I'm working from home this week which means saving in petrol but a spend in gas/electric! But today I have/will:- Checked banks

I shall need a few fresh bits from Mr S or similar, but very little, particularly as OH is going away for the coming weekend and there will only be me to feed (apart from DD2 and kids on Saturday no doubt

I will make a rhubarb crumble for afters (this probably last the rest of the week, not just today).I will need to log Icyland spends plus a small Amaz*n spend on my spreadsheet. And price up some items to take to my sales unit tomorrow afternoon.2
