Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, air is cold.
DH and DS1 up and getting ready for work, I'm showered and dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was roast pork, delicious it was too, some LO's also to make another meal - probably tomorrow night's dinner. Tonight we'll be having fish.
Yesterday was a bit lazy but we did get some clearing/tidying done.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, and thanks for starting NMLC.It's wet and stormy here, still dark of course. On Saturday the wind was terrible, quite frightening. It lifted our shed roof at one side, and DH was out there struggling to get it back into position, he managed though. We weren't out at all on Saturday, I cleaned all the kitchen cupboards and drawers, and the double oven - trouble is I don't want to use the oven now!Had to shop yesterday, but I still didn't need much.Today there's not much happening, I don't know if Dgd is coming after school, I'll txt DD at about 7am.I had an idea for a card in the middle of the night when I was lying awake, and also had the idea of turning a dress into a skirt. It's never been a satisfactory dress, as it's elasticated along the back waist and rides up. I'm always pulling it down, so as a result don't wear it much.I thought if I took the side zip out, then carefully measured and cut the bodice then took it from there. I did look at it once with a view to taking the elastic out but it's triple sewn in all along and it'll be hard to unpick as it's dark thread in tiny stitches on dark patterned fabric. I'll get it out and have a look at it. Middle of the night thoughts don't always work.Hope everyone is all right anyway, glad you've recovered DP1, and your Dgd is home. Thinking of our other poorly people as well,Take care folks.15

Morning all
Not quite as cold here this morning and we are due some sun which will be nice. Off to work for me and Mondays are always a bit manic trying to get everything ready for the week but I have a nice group of clients in so should be a good day.
Roast dinner tonight all cooked and ready it just needs heating through the brisket was lovely yesterday I slow cooked it with leeks onions and carrots and I then took the meat out and wizzed the veg up to make the gravy.will have to make some more yorkshires but thats no bother.
I need to put a wash on before work OH has emptied the dw which saves me a job. Finally did my meds course yesterday it took me a good few hours so im glad thats out the way.
Hope everyone is well xx
Have good days all xx16 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. The wind is still with us but nowhere near as bad as Saturday. It seems I got off lightly with my uprooted tree as I have been hearing of all sorts of damage hereabouts. My friends neighbour had half her roof blown off. I hate wind more than snow! I'll go round the back come daylight and sort out all the upturned pots etc.
Not a lot in store for today after my busy w/e with the DGDs. A grocery delivery this morning but still no freezer stuff, other than a loaf,, there's still plenty to wade through out there. The fridge, on the other hand, is looking bare and f & v are needed too. I did want some more LL milk to top up my supplies but an e mail tells me it is oos!!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. I hope no-one has had any serious damage thanks to the storms. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning everyone not as windy as Saturday but it’s very cold went out for a good walk yesterday as it was nice and bright didn’t dare leave the house Saturday what a lot of damage trees blown down and uprooted lots of fences and sheds smashed to pieces and so many damaged roofs it’s going to take a lot of clearing up .I’m of to work now back in at 5 it will be something easy tonight I have taken fish out of the freezer for me and sausage for the hubby.other than the dentist which was a big bill I could of done without and buying my dress for the wedding I have done very well this month now here’s to hoping nothing else comes up the rest of the year I have got to increase my savings.hugs to those that need them stay safe and warm everyone have a good day everyone whatever you are doing15

Morning
Vicious winds again overnight still quite dark so can’t tell if there’s any damage. Certainly lots of banging and crashing that kept me awake
Had a lovely relaxing Sunday and the pjs just make it feel nicer anyway. Back to clothes today as I need to go to the bin so I don’t want to scare the neighbours!
Despite chilling lots I still managed to hit my daily step target so physio still happening.
Nan I have issues with justin too which is why I’m forcing myself to wear the stuff I’m dithering about for a day. This somehow seals the deal to fling when its too tight, too short, too ugly or whatever. In return for some HM steak and kidney I’ll be there like a shot
I have a wide range of sizes in clothes thanks to the fluctuations most of us go through which is annoying when chucking too. I at least have my limits now the size 8 jeans will sadly never see the light of day again on me and haven’t for a long time. Anyway another shelf done so I’m getting there
Roast last night was scrummy and I ate too many roast pots so best keep some those larger sizes after all. Today is a prawn and cockle cocktail with the obligatory salad.
Few calls to do, a washload and the dish washer needs emptying so best get on
Camelot hope you’re still without symptoms
DP1 Hope you’re feeling a little better
Have a lovely day everyone

Morning everyone and thanks for the thread nmlc x
Yesterday was spent cleaning the bathrooms and DH did the cars – think I got off lighter! DD went back to uni late afternoon after I had taken her to Ts for some meat, fruit and veg. She messaged very late last night to say she’d arrived safely – it’s only an hours’ drive away, but the wifi code had changed at her student house and the previous message failed to send. I only panicked slightly….
DH went to meet some friends for a pint, so I caught up on The Apprentice x 2 and an episode of Suits. Still working my way through 9 seasons of that!
Have been for a run this morning. Windy in places but nothing like the Malik and Corrie proportions. So sorry to hear of damaged trees, property and fences. Stay safe everyone.
Working today and DS1 will be here later with the pup. DS2 is helping at Cubs tonight so an early tea of chicken pesto pasta is on the cards. I also have washing to do today.
Glad that DGD is home dp1 and that you are on the mend.
Hugs to poppy, NRA and Camelot.
Glad to know Val’s doing well JackieO.
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy

Good morning all
I hope everyone is safe and sound after the storms. It was very windy here last night but there is no damage that I can see so far.
I've hoovered round and got a wash on but that's about it as it's a working from home day for me. At the weekend I made some leek and potato soup so can have that for lunch. There's cajun chicken if I fancy it this evening but I often end up with crackers or toast by the evening as I'm not that hungry.
In good news, I think my cold is finally improving so hopefully just a few more days and all will be well.
My thoughts are with everyone with poorlies and worries.

Morning, Hugs if you need one. Start of a busy week. Bedroom gets cleared today ready for the decorator to start tomorrow.
Thankfully the wind was not too bad here, fingers crossed it stays like that. I hate wind and snow.
Pork salad tonight for supper, no dessert.12 -
Morning folks.Yesterday afternoon brought Storm Corrie, it started gently but then built up strength to be as bad as Malik. It raged until the early hours again. My garden chair has been flung across the lawn though there's damage elsewhere. Once again I feel lucky as there's so many others who haven't got power or heat. After watching James McAvoy on the Graham Norton show the other day I booked tickets for his Cyrano which is coming to Glasgow in March. It's a real indulgence! I decided to go to a matinee performance so I can drive home afterwards in daylight / dusk. It's so good to look forward to. 😀Today my only task is to take away the build up of recycling material which is hindering my access to the small freezer. After that excitement I have no idea, I don't need to do any shopping so I'll resist the temptation. I'm getting good at that this year. For now I'll do a bit more browsing before doing anything.Thoughts to all our poorlies, I wish you better. Happy Monday to all. 💕15

Hi everyone,
I'm just waiting for the DPD driver (James) who is dropping off a replacement drop down table from IKEA. We were missing a small part but they couldn't send a spare so they have sent a whole new table. He will also take a couple of boxes of books to Ziffit. I've sold them some cookery and quilting books and while it's not a lot of money they would otherwise be going to a charity shop. The £40 I've made will go towards the sewing room in true MSE fashion. This year I am going to do my best not to buy any new fabric, I have plenty to be going on with.
Steve finished putting up the shelves in the sewing room but when I transferred the books to the top one it pulled out of the wall, it's a different design to the ones downstairs and the brackets don't spread the load as much. He'll put them back with rawl bolts and I won't put as many books on them and hopefully they will be ok. Other than that the room is looking really good.
I'm just about over my cold, Steve is about two days behind me which means he should be over it in time for his eye op on Wednesday. We need to finish cleaning the house by Wednesday evening because we are going to Laura's to until Friday (bringing Esben back with us and L will follow by train after her day at college) and Steve's sister will arrive at MK station on Friday evening. She will stay till next Wed or Thurs after Steve's birthday on Tuesday. A bit of a milestone birthday because he will start getting his state pension.
James has just been so now I can go shopping, I have resisted all weekend because I hate seeing the fridge so bare. I switched it off and gave it a thorough clean because it was so easy to do, mainly just the jars that say refrigerate after opening (they usually also say discard after 3 or 4 weeks but I ignore that unless they start to smell funny or grow mould. We couldn't possibly use up pickles and things in a few days and the ingredients are meant to preserve the contents. I did throw away a couple of jars I judged to be too old though.
I hope all the poorlies are as well as can be expected. Have a good day.
