Not the cheapest deal EVER - MSE Shell Broadband deal is disappointing

MSE describes the Shell deal in this weeks newsletter at £12.83 but I find this really disappointing.
First of all you have to wait up to 4 months for your Amazon voucher and we have often see they don't happen. I would not be routinely spending on Amazon so Ideally I prefer an account credit.
The £65 Shell shop voucher is for a shop that sells products that are overpriced. I typically pay under £7 for plug automation compatible with Alexa, Shell sell similar for over £12. In fact the only product I would say might have some value for resale is the Ring Stick up pro at £89, but it is regularly available on Amazon for far less. So really this £65 shell shop voucher is not worth anything to most people
£21.99 is £263.88 over a year if you are comparing to annual deals or £395.82 over the 18 month contract.
So the respective prices with the Amazon voucher are £163.88 and £295.82, so £13.66 a month
The Vodafone deal in November was £19.49/mth for 38Mb fast fibre or £1/mth more a month for 67Mb superfast fibre
£19.49/mth is £233.88 per annum, or would cost £467.76 over the 2 year contract
So the respective price with the £130 voucher are £ 337.86 so £14.08 a month or £15.08 for 67gb
At least with vodafone the £130 voucher was Amazon, Tesco or M&S
The Shell deal may be a little bit cheaper but I do not thing the Shell shop voucher should be included in the figures.
If Shell want to promote future deals they would be wise to offer it as a credit to the broadband account as Sky used to do when they bothered to compete.

plenty of other deals if your not happy. Pretty transparent the offer. If you dont diarise to ensure you have the voucher then you have only yourself to blame/
If you don't like shell, go somewhere else. I've used Shell on and off and vodafone as they have been competitive and no issues with getting vouchers/credit."It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

MSE rarely show the actual cheapest broadband offers around. Been the same for years. They show the ones the get them the best referral.
Took out broadband in the summer with Plusnet, combination of Topcashback and a prepaid Mastercard bought it down to around £9 a month and only a 12 month contract. Anything MSE had didn't come near.
Just remember MSE is a business too.0
