Two bikes into one car?

Some people carriers can have a full bike upright.
My galaxy used to allow me to wheel the tandem in (folding the middle and rear LH seats), without any dissembly.
E-bikes can be very heavy - it's one thing to manhandle a lightweight road bike into a rear boot over a high boot lip; quite another to do the same with a hefty e-bike.
Mondeo should be more than capable of swallowing a road bike whole, albeit lying on one side.
I have a simple towbar Thule rack, which fits and unclips in seconds, and great for transporting hefty bikes.
I'd never leave unattended though - i'd rather lock the bike inside the car.1 -

That's what I'll do too, and lock the carrier in the car when out on the bikes.

Honda Civic will take two bikes once the back seats are flattened, front wheels may need removing (on the bikes
). Honda Jazz definitely takes one adult bike with back seats flat, may take 2 at a push. Unless the bikes you plan to get are very expensive/desirable and you intend to leave them on/in the vehicle whilst it is out of your sight I agree a towbar mounted rack is the way to go. Depending on the rack and car you may not (probably will not?) be able to open the boot with the rack on. We've had a pendle rack for about 30 years, IIRC only one of the cars it has been used with had a boot that would open whilst it was on (Ford Escort Cabriolet), hatchbacks, estates, 4x4s and people carriers stand no chance I'd think, saloon cars some limited chance.
