Two bikes into one car?
Does anybody put two standard bikes into a car (no rear or roof rack please) with two adults to drive off somewhere for a bike ride? I'd rather not dissassemble and put back together if possible. What make/model of car would be able to fit two fully assembled bikes?

I haven't done this, but maybe something like a Ford Galaxy?
What car do you have presently and how close is that to meeting the objective?1 -
Why not tell us what make/model of car YOU have and we can go from there. I can get a bike into the boot of my BMW 1 series if I drop the rear seats down and remove the front wheel, I think I could probably fit another one on top of it if I had to1

I can confirm one assembled bike fits into the back of a Ford Focus - I guess a second one might too, though I've never tried.1

I can get 2 bikes on top if each other in my Octavia Estate, but it depends on the bikes my 29er hard tail does not fit without removing the front wheel or dropping the saddle. My road bike fits as ridden.1

why not save yourself of all the inconvienence of having to transport your bikes, by using your bikes to transport you to the local pub for lunch, or indeed to some local place of interest?1

or buy a pick up truck.1

Managed to get 2 Boardman hybrid bikes in the back of a Toyota Avensis estate without any dismantling. Just ensure there is plenty of blankets or other protection between them.1

I've done this regularly with a Skoda Octavia estate and a Mazda6 estate although for bigger bikes (plus/fat) it's usually a bit easier to remove the front wheel on the bike on top.1

Typically having removable front wheels can make things easier and hardly qualifies as disassembling.I've had bikes in the back of a Grand Voyager, but they wouldn't fit in a 2-seater...1

Bikes are typically about 1.5-1.6m long, so you should be able to fit them in any large estate or people carrier without dismantling them just by folding the rear seats down.
It's an awful lot easier to put them on a rack though, because they'll catch on each other and you need to be careful with mud.
If you don't need the extra seats the rest of the time, then you might want to look at small vans. That way you can store them upright and separate.1
