yes option 3. I would suggest Lloyds of London, who cover pretty much anything.

Or an international (possibly in this case Israeli) insurer.

Check the terms carefully though, as with any insurance policy.

Normally I would have little sympathy for those that choose not to be vaccinated, but the thought of your offspring having a terminal diagnosis is truly awful.

I hope you manage to travel. If you do have problems getting permission to travel then this organisation may be able to help https://yadlolim.org/corona-update/

Battleface.com are a company that provide cover in all sort of circumstances, so maybe worth trying them for insurance.

Hi, I just wanted to say that I'm so very sorry to hear about your daughter. I do hope you manage to visit her, hopefully on compassionate grounds - you may have to isolate on arrival but if you can see her then that's the main thing. I do agree with vaccination because it's for the greater good - and it's a killer virus but I still hope you get to see your daughter. I know I'd want to move heaven and earth to visit my daughter in such terrible circumstances.

Have a look at the Staysure site, they can give you a quote online. https://www.staysure.co.uk/2022/01/covid-travel-rules-uk/

I used Staysure a few times for travel prior to covid and found them to be very good.

All the very best to all your family x

You missed the clear reference to Staysure’s t&c in the OP then?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Thanks for those who have made positive comments and suggestions.  As stated, I believe Staysure is an outlier, and I understand many companies and the bank package accounts will not restrict cover based on vaccination status.  I wanted informed suggestions.  The reason for the posting is that I cannot make enquiries myself at the moment as my wife has an angiogram and a possible heart operation on Friday. It would be kamikaze to try to get a quote before that.   Hopefully the procedure will be minor, and we can then get a quote.
I will try to come back to this posting when we have booked and got the insurance and report back for the benefit of others.

Hope it all goes well for your wife. From experience, if your wife needs a stent (or more) you won’t be able to get travel insurance for travel within 6 weeks of the date of operation.

I looked briefly at Battleface last year but there were restrictions on anyone over 59. I wasn't yet 59 but wasn't  that far off so that's why I noticed it.
