Travel insurance for unvaccinated

This does not seem to be covered on the website.
My wife and I have, as a matter of personal choice, decided not to have to have the covid vaccine for now, due to concerns regarding the mRNA vaccine. In particular my wife has a heart condition and is concerned regarding the myocarditis side effect which can seriously affect the heart.
We are now in a situation where our daughter, who lives abroad, has been given a diagnosis of possibly 2 months to live and we need to get out to see her.
Staysure, which MSE suggests for over 65s, has the following claim exclusions in their policies.
14. any claim where you contract COVID-19 and you have not had the recommended vaccination(s) (consideration will be given where you were medically unable to have the vaccination, and this is shown in your medical records).
16. any claim arising as a result of you, or your travel companion being unable to complete the full COVID-19 vaccination course before your scheduled departure date due to delays in supply, or changes in Government policy.
18. any claim where you do not hold the required confirmation of vaccination documentation, for example a vaccination passport.
Obviously, my wife and I cannot now have 2 vaccinations with an 8 week gap in between and Israel’s entry policy for unvaccinated exemptions requires a health insurance policy covering covid
Can you suggest an insurer that will not require vaccination?Comments

Will Israel let you into the country if you are not vaccinated?

Reading what you have posted, the exclusions are COVID related and I think you will OK as long as you don't contract COVID?
If you want a policy that covers you for COVID-related incidents whilst being unvaccinated then I would suggest contacting a specialist broker who can look at eg Lloyds of London.0 -
If your wife has a medical exemption with her GP then she would still be covered, from reading staysure’s terms and conditions. You’ve not mentioned having a health condition yourself so if it’s a choice you’ve made you may struggle to find other insurers. This is probably one for a broker rather than online searches. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Your biggest problem is that you don't qua;ify for a medical exemption for vaccinations, you are unvaccinated through choice. You will not be allowed entry.

If you do decide to get vaccinated you need to add another 14 days to your timeline. You're won't be considered fully vaccinated until 14 days after your second jab.0 -
People seem to have been very judgmental on the vaccination issue, rather than responding to the question. Vaccination should always be a matter of choice rather than compulsion or coercion. This was not a question about Government policy, but about finding a suitable insurer.
According to a quick internet search it has been suggested that Staysure is an outlier on their exclusions. I had hoped that people with more knowledge of current policies would have made suggestions. Quite apart from those who are unvaccinated, there has got to be an issue that insurers might have their own definition of 'fully vaccinated' and people might get caught out, even if they have had the jab. We have obviously fully researched entry to Israel and our applications are with the Israeli embassy. Entry is possible to Israel as unvaccinated via an exemption.2 -

If you can get (and are willing to receive) a first dose in the UK before going before a second dose in Israel, ensuring you are fully vaccinated on your return.
The link to the government entry requirements are here.
Contact details for the Israeli embassy in London are here.
Given the seriousness of the situation for your family and that there would be little prospect of being vaccinated in time, this would be your final chance. I am aware on this forum last year of a case where the US entry ban was waived for a British national as a result of our advice, but this did take some time.💙💛 💔2 -
Any descision that you are free to make can have consequencies, and with the Covid vaccine the descision not to get vaccinated has the consequence of restricting travel, a fact that was and is well known .If somone has freinds/family/property abroad and they choose not to be vaccinated then they need to accept that they could not be able to go abroad to visit friends/family/property irrespective of the need to do so.At a time when people have been unable to say their final goodbyes in person to loved ones dying in hospitals, or visit elderly freinds/relatives in care homes, there should be no surprises if you chose not to be vaccinated. Its your personal choce - get vaccinated and be able to travel to see sick relatives in person - dont get vaccinated and then you will not be able to see the sick relaitves abroad, your choice, besides theres always zoom/facetime etc6

You still have options:
1. travel uninsured
2. travel with a policy that covers things like loss of baggage, airline failures, exploding volcanoes etc ie everything but medical bills. Anything medical you will have to pay yourself
3. get a policy that covers everything from a specialist broker. The cost will be huge but you will be fully insured.0 -
