I have a lovely lady called Gill who comes to my house once every 6 weeks and trims my hair for me it costs £16.00 and I always give her £18.She was my hairdresser before the pandemic then the shop closed and she went mobile. I'm very happy as my hair grows really quickly and a six week trim is excellent for me

£25.00 for me but I am rural so there are additional petrol costs I suppose. She does an excellent job and as my health and mobility are so restricted it is a price I have to pay7

I cut my own hair. Found a nice easy way to do a layered style on YT, and as my hair is wavy it hides any mistakes. It's one of those things I never really mention to people in real life though, as everyone seems to think you are a bit mad if you cut your own hair 😂Live the good life where you have been planted.

I cut my own hair, and husband uses clippers, so thank goodness that doesn't cost a thing. I want my dds to learn to do each other's hair, so they can both save on these costs for the rest of their lives.

I'm not fully caught up yet. Loving all the chicken talk
Wish we had the space for some.
Also like a desert here. We had rain for about an hour and a half in the early hours of Saturday morning. That was the first time in 4 or 5 weeks. And yesterday evening it rained for 5 minutes! Felt like everywhere around us was getting deluged, and we still didn't get it!
Plants. On Friday morning I finally moved my tomato plants out into the garden this weekend. Cut the grass, trimmed a hedge. Did a tip run with green waste. None of which was great for my hayfever. I was already suffering, and I made it ten times worse. But it needed doing. Then Saturday, a local garden centre posted on FB to say that their current batch of veggie and herb plants were £1 each, to make room for the next batch. So I practically ran out of the door. Got a tray of dwarf beans for £1, a sage plant for a £1 and a sweet pepper plant for a £1. A bargain!
I noticed that their plants, pre-sale, were all reasonably priced. But everything else was extortionate. I assume they grow the plants on site, so can keep costs fairly low, but the other bits they probably buy from wholesalers and can't negotiate the cheaper deals that large companies do (as they buy in bulk).
Anyway, I got them all planted on and also sowed some mange tout seeds. I had started some off a month of two previous, but I think I put them out too early as they died lol.February wins: Theatre tickets8 -
Mrs Indout has done my hair since Lockdown and its better than when I was paying to have it cut. She wont let me loose on her hair though which is a pity as her Hairdresser is retiring at the end of the month after being quite ill so she has had to try a couple of others and did not like either, the search will go on.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy9

It might be more economical to do a special hairdressing course? @Siebrie or find a less painful hairstyle. Undoing the braids and having the hair washed, untangled, and ready for styling should reduce the time and cost at the hairdressers.
Mobile hairdressers may cost less, if a friend can recommend one. There is one locally several of my friends use, and it saves them the travel.
I remember my niece saying, “Dad, will you cut my hair?” It was entertaining and he had the patience to make a very good job of it.
I used the clippers to cut DH’s hair again yesterday evening. The clippers have paid for themselves many times over.6 -
I'm trying to persuade them to have short hair or an undercut, but they are too young to appreciate those styles and prefer long 'princess' hair

Like @Nelliegrace, I've used clippers for DH's hair for years - one of the biggest money saving purchases we've ever had! The last time he went to the barber's shop it cost £8 but I bet it's much more than that now. For mine, it's £28 for a wash, cut and blow dry but, thanks to a different style (brought about by lockdowns), I now go 8 weeks between visits rather than 6 weeks. I don't begrudge it as it's my treat to me and I get an hour's peace once in a while.
We haven't had the predicted thunder storms here (yet) but have had a little bit of rain. About 10 mins worth of gentle drizzle on Saturday, 20 mins of slightly heavier rain yesterday afternoon and a quick 10 min downpour earlier this afternoon. Probably not enough to help the gardeners but it's less oppressive.
Busy week this week so meals will be quick and simple. Tonight we're having SC butter chicken with plain boiled rice for me and a naan for DH. Strawberries for afters.Be kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
